I've been reading around lately on how people make holsters for their blasters. I've seen people make crappy cube-like cardboard and ductape holsters, and have heard of people making holsters out of coat hanger wire, duct tape, and cardboard bent multiple. Most of the methods I have observed were from topics that are nearly a decade old, and was wondering if these were outdated and if any new methods have been created. So, how do you make your holsters, and are there any writeups out there I may have missed that detail how to make a good one?
There is a pretty good one around here somewhere for a minimized Nitefinder. It uses plastic folders and brass paper holder thingies, It is also relatively simple to adapt the basic design (I made one for my 2k turreted Nitefinder)
look in the mod directory under miscellaneous, If it isn't there check the homemades directory

If you can't find a suitable writeup, I bought one of these for $26. Made out of nylon and velcro. It holds anything from a nightfinder to a praxis.

, leather sounds a bit over the top and expensive in my opinion, but will look into your other suggestions,.

I buy a pack of random leather strips from hobby lobby and weave my own holster, the bag of strips has enough for like 3 maverick sized guns and only costs 5 bucks. It's strong, flexible and it's fun to make.
The quote thing messed up, I'm still learning.

I think that when I'm done I'll edit my first post and put links to all the ways to make holsters in it as references for anyone who is interested in making holsters, as it isn't something I hear about around the forums usually.

That is mostly because players have been moving away from Primary + Secondary setups and toward just Primary + Hoppers/turrets.

Draconis speaks the truth. Carrying a side arm was, at one point, the sign of a veteran nerfer. Eventually it became the norm, until the advent of hoppers made pulling and potentially priming said sidearm more time consuming then recocking your primary or tossing another few darts into a hopper.

But what Draconis and VACC said is true: holsters have lost a lot of relevance in the last few years.

Koree has been using magnetic holsters for awhile now. We played around with them back when he was in Minnesota, and they worked surprisingly well. Just glue a hard drive magnets to the side of your nitefinder, and slip another magnet into your pocket.

I see what you three mean. I was surprised to find hardly anything current when I researched holsters the other day. I've been working on secondary modifications that can achieve ranges near what my basic modded primaries can, so I still like bringing them around with me. I plan on making a holster for my barricade, which I'm following Hamoidar's method to make it fire automatically. It will be a must to carry on me in any future wars.
Oddly enough I actually have a hard drive magnet sitting in my room, so I'll definitely try out your magnetic method.

Rigourous amounts of epoxy putt on the vest. I have nerfed with koree and his pistol has only fallen off once with that setup and that was due to a branch catching his back.
However if you don't have a specificed piece of clothing to do this to try something else.

Yep, and I've improved on the design. It works well enough I feel that it is very useful even though we all use hoppers and such.
Also, just posted a write up.

magnetic holsters are fine in all but for even cheeper you can use heat-bent pvc, just heat up a pot of water to a boil (it has to be a huge pot of water, atleast 8 in deep), cover the front shell of your blaster in silicone grease, dip the pvc in the water and form the pvc to the blaster. when its formed, dip the pvc, blaster and all into ice water. BOOM instant holster. you can drill holes into it and mount it however you like. i got this idea from a friend.
im freakin tired of the quote system messing up!
