I just modified my Longstrike by taking away the clip removal lock so I can easily drop the clip. The clip removal lock, from what I think it is based on a video, is a orange tab right behind where the clip drops. Below are pictures to show what piece I removed. The first picture is the piece I removed. The other pictures are to show where the piece goes. To be more specific, the piece goes behind the orange piece shown in the last picture.







The title basically tells you the problem. When I want to drop the clip, it doesn't drop smoothly. I would have to yank it out. Moreover, when I want to slide a clip in, I would have to push it in with some force. From my analysis and observation, the bolt sled isn't align straight, hence preventing the clip from sliding smoothly into place. Furthermore, I recall that when I first look at the internals, the piece I removed seems to go right under the bolt sled. What I'm trying to say is the piece most likely aligns the bolt sled properly and I shouldn't have removed it.

BUT, I'm still really unsure if I'm doing the clip lock removal mod correctly. So, I need some input and advice. Thank you.

(I know this post seems long but bare with me. I just want to be as clear as possible.)

I think that you have the same problem that my longshot has. I disassembled and reassembled my blaster but couldnt find out how to fix it. I just yank back on the priming handle and clip release at the same timeto allow the clip to come out.

If you are forcing the clip in, and the bolt isn't lined up right, logic dictates that the clip release is not going to be smooth.

The lock is not necessary to keep the bolt straight. I have removed enough locks from clip blasters to know that. Also the Clip Lock is the simplest thing to remove (except in the AT and Raider). But they Recon and Longstrike locks come right out. and really don't even interfere with anything coming out. Open it up and DOUBLE CHECK that the bolt and breech are reinstalled correctly and lined up properly. Also it will vary from clip to clip. I had clips get stuck and some come right out of my LSK. I have 2 LSK, the same clip will slid out with just a pull of the clip release, the other you need a jolt down to do it free hand.

Also. Keep in mind that, just because you took out the clip lock, does not mean after firing your final shot, pulling the clip release will drop your clip. In the LSK, Recon, AT, the clip uses the breech as part of it's connection, you will need to pull it out if the breech is closed. Hence also removing the Trigger Locks, so you can deprime the blasters safely.

Latest Update : I opened it up and checked that everything is lined up. The problem is still there. But, I don't think it really matters since I could pull the clip out if it doesn't drop or push the clip in when it won't go in.

Yes, that's what I did. But, I want to be more convenient by having the clip slide right out when I press the clip release. But, like I said in my last post, it doesn't matter for me now since I could just pull the clip out other than having it slide right out or kind of push the clip in.
