I bought and modded my retailiator recently, just an AR and lock and jam door removal. The prime is no longer smooth, and has almost a crunch sound when coming over a bit of resistance at about the 1 inch into the prime. Ive reassembled the blaster about 3 times, and can not seem to fix the problem. It reminded me of the same problem with gen 1 recons after modding. Any idea what to troubleshoot?
Retaliator Crunch?

Either something snapped or you didn't put it together right. Pics might be helpful, only thing I can wager a guess on is the Priming Slide is not aligned correctly. It is finicky, unless its spot on right that might be what is leading to your issue.
My Youtube PageGriever 2112 still plays with his alpha trooper quite often despite owning one of the scariest +bows.

Make sure the pin that connects the boltsled to the breech is not poking out. I had that happen to my Recon once and it took me a while to understand what was wrong.

The same thing is happening to mine. when the magazine is in the blaster with darts inside, it doesn't do it anymore though.

Maybe try to re-install the jam door?
Langley thinks he's the shit, He will kill you for a couple imperfect letters. How's that for good grammar langley?

I must admit that the notion that your blaster makes strange noises when priming made me laugh out loud. Make sure everything is aligned. Everything should be arrow straight inside the shell, and there should be no difficulty closing the case. If you have difficulty lining things up, keep trying, don't force it shut.

In mine, I found out that the orange ring on the back of the plunger tube had popped off and that it was interfering with the catch. Check out that ring on yours, and see if it popped off / came loose. Mine wasn't glued on at all.

Make sure that you did not accidentally drop the pin from the jam door into the priming slide. That happened on mine and I heard a similar noise.
