Read the New Members Guide before posting.
If you do not comply with the New Members Guide, your account may be suspended.

Welcome to NerfHaven! If you can read this, you've probably just registered an account. There are a couple of things you should know before you get started:

Why can't I post?

  • If you can't post anywhere, you may still need to validate your e-mail address. You should have received a confirmation e-mail with a link that you must click to verify your address. If you did not receive it, you can click 'Resend Validation' to try sending the e-mail again. Don't forget to check your spam folder. You may change your e-mail address from the one you signed up with by clicking 'My Settings'. If you continue to have difficulty receiving the validation email, send an email from the address you registered your account with to webmaster@nerfhaven.com and then try one more time to click the 'Resend Validation' link.
  • You may have posted, but your posts are in the moderation queue.  The first couple of posts you make need to be approved by a moderator.  We usually get to it within 24 hours.  This is mainly to keep spam bots from getting through.  Once you've posted twice, you will not have to wait.
  • You have used up all your posts per day, or you are trying to post in a restricted area.  To make sure our moderators can keep up, we have restricted the number of times new members can post per day (2-3).  New members are not allowed to post new threads in Off Topic, and can't post at all in the Trading forum.  These restrictions will go away when you are promoted to full member.  You can earn full membership by participating in the forum community, following the site's rules, and contributing content to the site. The upgrade to full member is automatic, and the length of time it takes varies.

Before you do anything, read the New Members Guide
The New Members Guide is full of advice for new members, tips on how to find information on the site and how to post, and answers to frequently asked questions. Give it a good look while you're waiting for your account to activate.

When you're done with the New Members Guide...
If you're still waiting and looking for something to do, take a look around the forums, read the threads pinned to the top of the subforums you're interested in. Take a look at the 2016 Nerf War Schedule and find out if there's a nerf war in your area. If not, you can try and find more experienced nerfers in your area and see if you can get a nerf war going. I also recommend taking a look at the Homemades Picture Thread and the Modifications and Paintjobs thread for some photos of what other people have been working on, and inspiration for your own projects. It's probably best to start at the end of the thread and work your way back to the beginning, those threads have been around for years and the first few posts are very out of date. Finally, if you're interested in nerfing the way 90% of the people on this site nerf, you'll probably want to learn how to make your own nerf darts.

If you have a question...
Search before you ask. This is covered in the New Members Guide but it bears repeating here. I recommend using google with the "site:nerfhaven.com" option on. This custom google search tool is basically the same thing. You can also click on the gear in the upper right for the built-in advanced search feature. Take a look around before you post a new thread, with nearly a decade of discussion threads, the answer is bound to be on the site already if you look for it.
