I came across a few poppers (the little white paper ball ones) I had left over from a year ago. Then I thought "Why not make nerf darts with these little guys on them?". After thinking about how the popper would effect the range and accuracy of a stefan (not to mention how much foam I would be wasting), I decided to put them into 1/2 peices of foam shotgun bullets. You just cut off some fbr, burn a whole, and glue in the popper so it sticks out a little. I shoved three of them down the crayola barrel of my SSII and let her rip. In the night, they light up just like they would without being hot-glued to some fbr. It's pretty cool looking, and I bet it would look cooler with more than three. Below is a link for a movie I took of two pop darts exploding.

I couldn't really see anything...maybe if you posted a picture of the dart, then I would be able to understand it better.

The link did not work because I uploaded too big a file onto geocities, sorry about that. Here's a picture of the dart:

If you just put a little bit of hot glue to secure the popper, you can easily remove the remainings and insert another popper.

That would be fun to use in a night war. How much hot glue did you put in so that it doesnt fall out during its flight? I gotchya now, before I didn't know what you were talking about when you said "popper." (I guess we call em crackers or something like that over here, don't rememer, haven't used em in ages). I guess it would require everyone to wear a little bit more protection though. Next time I go to chinatown, I'll load myself up with some.

Instead of using hot glue, you could use tacky glue. That way, to get the old poper out, all you do is get the glue wet and then it lets go.

I've heard that the popers, when exploding on skin, leave a black mark (that rubs off) and that is it. Is that true?

Ya, I wouldn't use those in a war unless you had more protection. I was just fooling around and not really considering them to be used in a nerf war, but they aren't that harmful. When I was planting one in a dart, it accidently blew up in my hand. It didn't hurt at all. It may be ideal to use these things in a night battle, but I would wear a paintball mask or a full face mask if you decide to do so. Also, If you just put a little bit of hot glue, you shouldn't have a problem replacing it.

When my school went on a trip to Ottawa, we all found a nice little store that sold those things. I bought about 30 boxes of 40 crackers. The whole school was obsessed with throwing them at eachother. They don't hurt, but they DO leave a mark. I have a shirt with black spots all over it, and it won't wash out, howevere it does come off of skin.

I still have about 10 boxes left... maybe I'll go build one of my Kinder Suprise magnesium-gunpowder bombs... god it's been too long.

Not in the game anymore, but it was great while it lasted. Thanks for the great years of fun, NH!

Take a hit, deal with it. I got bursted from point blank coming out from under a bridge with an airsoft m16 right to the shoulder. That's pain. Getting hit with a pepper popper aint gonna kill you. Deal with it. Grrr... Sorry, that SOB who wants to buy stefans made me angry.

Well, July fourth is coming up for all the good folks in the USA. Fire crackers are starting to be sold everywhere, so I am gonna go buy myself a bunch of poppers.

They are pretty harmless, but don't shoot at eyes. Maybe I should do night games and wear chestplates of cardboard. That way the poppers have something stiff to impact on and burst.

Harmless? bah!

I remember, one time, I got a paper towel, and unwrapped the contents of like 3 boxes of poppers into it, to make, obviously, one mega-popper.

Lets just say it was a bad idea.

I did that, and I found out that if you drop one little rock into the pile bang, pain, ears, pain.

An aquaintance of mine took a pile and set them all over the road at Halloween, so all these little kids would be walking along and you'd just see them jump and hear a load crack. It was kinda funny... Until they started throwing them at oncoming cars at a nearby highway. Then I called them stupid and left.
