Clarification: Spring-powered means using anything that acts like a spring, not just the coiled kind? Bow/trebuchet/other weird mechanisms are what I"m referring to.

Probably the third category, though to be honest I don't see how you could do both in one mechanism.

A PulseStrike-esqe homemade, maybe.

Is there a cut-off date for officially entering this contest? I probably will, I'd just like to have something functional and up to par before you or I go through the expense of shipping something.

This was the second thing I was considering, but I tend to hate pumps so I gave up on the idea. I'd love to see someone try it though.

I'll give this a whirl, I've always been interested in unnecessarily large springers.

No, a homemade Pulsestrike tank would just be an air blaster. The spring isn't really doing the work, especially since the rocket is likely to have left before the plunger head moved much.

Is there a cut-off date for officially entering this contest? I probably will, I'd just like to have something functional and up to par before you or I go through the expense of shipping something.

No, no cut off for entering, but if you do it too late, you won't have time to test with a rocket prior to the contest completion.

Are Canadians eligible for this?

Yes, certainly international entries are acceptable. But you will be paying for shipping of the rocket.

I'll give it a try. Why not? The worst I can do is fail horribly and confirm my FNG status.

Would a springer blaster attachment be eligible? To clarify something that gets attached to a springer but before the rocket be allowed or should I stick to a full springer rocket launcher?

I don't quite follow. Do you mean something like a secondary attachment which someone would mount under a +Bow, Longshot, or Ellen?

I'll probably join, depending on logistics on my end. I'll PM you when I've worked it out.

Update: I haven't been able to find the parts I need, though the deadline extension might help.

Small update. Or caveat, mostly. I have been shipping out contest rockets here and there when they coincided with other shipments already in the works. Sooo... If you want your rocket earlier, rather than later, buy something from my sale thread! Also, the contest rockets are what I would consider "factory seconds", meaning that they operate normally but may not be visually perfect.

Well, since I have been running behind in my scheduled delivery of test rockets, I have decided to extend the due date of the contest entries until August 15th. I hope this gives you guys enough extra time.

I'm leaving for a canoe trip today, and won't be back until the end of august. I misjudged when my rocket would arrive, thinking I would have enough time, but I don't have it yet. Unfortunately this means I won't be able to submit my entries in the contest, although I will still complete and post them.

I got my rocket yesterday, and would like to encourage everyone to make a springer! I adapted a barrel to fit onto my rainbowpump (just to start messing around), and I had a few "dud" shots, but otherwise I was getting almost 30ft out of the rockets. I'm sure with the actual rockets (not the "messups"), it would be more consistent or even get better range. Making it go 60ft is definitely possible

That's great! I look forward to seeing more of these! One thing about the second quality rockets, they should still perform the same, they just are not perfect visually. Maybe a small gap around the edge of the nose, or a melted spot somewhere.

Are we supposed to be building this completely from scratch? or can I repurpose an existing titan barrel? (I havent gotten a rocket yet, but making a barrel out of PVC or something seems like a bad/high friction idea)

You could certainly repurpose a Titan barrel, but it will not work as a barrel for these rockets. You need tube with a 1.0" OD to properly fit them, as they were designed to be launched from a stock Roto-Rocket. If you need barrel material I could probably send that along with your rocket. PM me if you need it.
