So, I have a leaky 3k and 2k. So, what to do I ask myself........ AH HAH!!! We are huge R/C enthusiasts, so I grab a bottle of 45 weight silicone shock oil. (This is the part where you go and buy some from your local hobby shop)

Materials

  • Factory Team 45 Weight Shock Oil
  • Leaky Airgun Of Choice (2k, 3k, etc.)

The shock oil ^

Now, unscrew the cap to open it (like an Elmer's glue bottle), and pour a few (2-5 drops depending on the blaster) drops down the air output valve, and it should seal right up!

Sorry for the crappy pictures, couldn't find my good camera.

So, in conclusion, this will NOT work for every situation, but it did work with my 2k and 3k. Hope this helps! Comments, questions, and even flames are appreciated.

And what exactly does adding this oil do? Relube the washer? Clean the washer?

It's a good bet that the high viscosity oil fills in the small leaks in an ill-fitting/worn/deformed valve seal, but is too thick to be blown out by the air pressure. At any rate, I wouldn't argue with success.

My question is, how long does the fix last? I'd imagine that eventually the oil will be blown out, and you'd have to reapply the oil. Even still, it's a nice fix.

The oil lasts about 2 weeks or so, depending on how much you use and how often you use the blaster, and yes it does fill the small leaks and lubes the seal.

I once had a can of spray silicone lube that dispensed in a liquid rather than a mist. By filling a tank and letting it impregnate
the various seals, I have, in the past, fixed a 2k with a leaky front valve, a 3k with the same, and a SM2500 leaking from the pin.

I can't for the life of me remember where I got it, or find the can here at home. All of these tanks have held up since then. Anyone
ever found a similar silicone spray? I thought I got it at a hardware store (ace equivalent or home depot), but other hobbyists have
told me hobby stores may have it.

I've done similar things using regular silicone spray; just spray it in a small container, wait a few seconds for it to stop fizzing, then poor the liquid out.

I have used silicone spray to fix leak in my 4B front seal as well. The weird thing was I sprayed the seal, pumped up the tank, and left it for about 3 hours then when I came back the entire front was sealed shut like the silicone hardened. I had to force the seal open my pulling on the trigger and pushing in the front with a dowel at the same time. Once I got it back open however it has had a flawless seal for over a year now. I guess the silicone spray hardened filling the gaps in the oring forming a perfect sealing face again. I recently modded a new 4B however and now it leaks out the firing pin, so I will have to try this and see if it works for that too. If not are there any other suggestions on how to fix a leaking firing pin?

The silicone spray usually ruins o-rings seals by impregnation, but in the case of faucet seals and airguns, this is the needed effect. I use liquid wrench for my airguns when and if they leak.

If two powerful is a problem then just go with one powerful. I guess this style of hopper will work even beyond three powerful..

I used to use liquid wrench too, but the only place I can get it is at an auto parts store which is about 15 minutes away from my house. Plus, the can I got was way too pressurized, and the lithium grease sprayed out at very high pressures, and got all over my wall and desk. I only use it in plunger guns now. And, it made some weird white steam-like vapor rise out of the tank and barrel.
