They will be almost always banned, except if you have it shotgunned. This is typical.

Also, based on eBay, that thing could be worth some nice money. Like, enough to get a nice crossbow with homemade internals kind of money.

At least he has the common sense to ask if it's dangerous or not.

This is true. In any case, I'd bet that as long as it works, he can get a good $100ish for it on eBay.

Please improve your spelling, punctuation and grammar.

I don't know of any CPS 3000 mods, but I think you would be better off using it as a water shooter, or selling it. The CPS series of blasters are quite valuable.

The CPS 3000 is a particularly rare and valuable Super Soaker, so like others said you can get a large amount of $ from selling it. I would advise against it because i'm sure there are other air blasters that can produce similar ranges when modified, but worth much less. Ruining a CPS 3000 by modifying it would be a huge disappointment, and probably would result in much less value than a stock blaster, but hey, it's your decision. For the price of one of these you could probably pick up a well-modified homemade blaster with amazing performance, a ton of new blasters, a lot of parts for mods or a lot of other options.

Please, do yourself a favor and don't modify it. Like everyone else is saying, if it is in good condition, sell it on ebay or keep it. As others are saying, there are many other cheap super soakers that are common and cheap you can buy. I lost mine, but water guns like the Arctic Blast and similar ones aren't too hard to find, and aren't too hard to mod and have huge potential.

I came across this topic by chance, really. Out of curiosity, is there a reason the CPS 3000 is worth so much?

The CPS 3000 is valuable for several reasons.

- It is part of the "Legendary '98s" portion of the CPS line, a group of 4 high powered water guns released in 1998 (1000, 1500, 2500, 3000).
- It is one of the highest capacity water guns ever made, with the soft backpack.
- The pressure chamber is gigantic and it needs zero modding to be competitive against other big water guns.
- They are more difficult to find than most other CPS soakers.

As others have posted, an irreversible Nerf conversion of a 3000 would be like throwing a benjamin out the window. CPS is a poor choice for conversion in the first place, as the rubber bladder is designed to expand with water and not with pressurized air. Likewise, the pump is designed to move water by suction. It will still work, but you could get the same or better results with an air pressure soaker worth five bucks or a homemade designed for air.

Ah, I see. Looks like I'm gonna have to keep an eye out for those particular CPS Super Soakers any time I'm at a flea market, yard sale, salvation army or the like. I had no idea a water gun could be that valuable.

Thanks for the help guys, I was 2 minutes from tearing it apart. It may go into the online market at the moment its being cleaned up and prepared to be sold, anyone knows what the psi can get on those things. Also does the hose come off the black and blue backpack?
