Where:
Cullen Elementary School
440 N. Live Oak Ave
Glendora, CA 91741

Ole Hammer Park
440 Right Next Door Blvd.
Glendora, CA 91741

When: July 14th 9:30 am to 4:30ish pm

The standard SoCal rules apply for eye protection and banned blasters
what that means is eye protection is Required for all players, even those over 18. if you are spotted without eye protection I will make you go and get some or you can sit out for the round.
also the following are not allowed on the playing field pending my approval: Blasters painted black, singled titans or 5ks, homemade airguns, pump replaced 4bs, other homemades excluding plusbows, snaps, or Ryan#'s homemades (pacs, rainbows, aabows, etc.). If you are not sure about your blaster pm me. If your blaster is painted black it will be covered with bright marking tape. Also if I feel that a blaster is shooting too hard I may ask you to play with something else so bring backup blasters.

Housing is also something we local guys usually don't mind doing so if you are coming from out of town and need a place to stay speak up about it here or book a hotel room.

Many questions have been asked about blasters and darts. Here is your answer.

If your blaster is not on the ban list and has been allowed at wars with no special rules then bring it pending approval.

If your blaster is not on the ban list and has been banned and other wars don't bring it.

If your blaster is sketchy about safe performance you may bring for approval, but bring a blaster that is within safe standards for back-up.

Legal dart options include:
glue domes, slugs, and silicone heads

No "sub-optimal" or "super" domes

No exposed metal

Any questions post here or pm me.

I've brought my pumpsnap to a couple wars, and even hoppered, I might say so myself that it is quite powerful (I think you know that). Despite having approximately the same power as Roboman's 2ks (with the newfangled silencer of his) I am concerned about whether I should bring it or leave it at home.

Edit. Nevermind, after looking at my schedule, I don't think I'll be able to make it at all, 14th or 21st might work only because my course is online except for the test taking part.

What about ring catch blasters? I only have a pullback version, so I won't be too upset if you say no. It definitly hits within the range limits, as it has 4.5" of draw, is a 1.5" plunger diameter, and is powered by only 2 ace#49's. Also, what about HAMPS? If
my 'rents let me come, I would love to.

Fixed It For You, robo.
Also, on a related note, despite me only checking the July 7th box, I can actually make it to all of the dates. I just prefer the 7th

I've been talking up this event all year. The 7th and 14th work best for me. I plan on bringing as many of my usual cohorts as I possibly can.

Hopefully a few other HB guys will crawl out of the woodwork for this one, but only the 7th or 14th will work for any of us.

We'll be out of the country on the later dates.

Probably not my place, but what I understand is that they are domes that have weights outside the foam, in the hot glue dome itself. Weight/aerodynamics are so optimal that it gets unfair to use them.

If two powerful is a problem then just go with one powerful. I guess this style of hopper will work even beyond three powerful..

Yeah, pretty much- and there's a greater risk of the weight ripping out/off of the foam. Funny to see happen when you're dicking around in your backyard (lolwut where'd the weight go?) but never funny for nerf war where you're shooting it at other people...

Could we get a date decision sometime soon? Along with an attendance list would be really great. I have to plan ahead to get down there and I would like to know if there's going to be more than five people.

Update: the war date has been decided to be the 14th.

To Pants: When do we ever have an attendance list? Armageddon has never had fewer than 25 people in previous years anyways.

To all wondering what a super dome is: It is a dart with a glue dome molded to the shape of a bullet roughly, and that's no good.

To all wondering what a super dome is: It is a dart with a glue dome molded to the shape of a bullet roughly, and that's no good.

But why is this bad? Because they're better than the ones other people can make? Last I checked the whole point of a dart was to have an aerodynamic BULLET TYPE projectile to shoot someone with. Naturally you will want to put time and effort into it to maximize the range of your blaster. In recent times the rest of the community has made the natural switch to slugs, due to their much higher safety and all around ease to make. In addition to that a slug evens out ranges across all guns, thus minimizing the hassle of banning guns on a case by case basis. However so cal still allows the glue domes that everyone there makes, yet destroys the "super domes"? The straightest answer is that they are "unsafe", which is laughable compared to so cal's darts. Let us take a look at some darts I have picked up at so cal wars and taken from the dart bucket.
Posted Image
In the front is one of zeke's "super domes", then two dart bucket darts, and one of my slugs. The super dome is made to the normal high standards for his darts, no exposed metal, the hot glue is perfectly smooth and domed to reduce any further pain. The yellow dart is some sort of extremely hard hot glue on an exposed washer with zero glue inside the foam itself. I have another ten or so of these darts made the same way. The third dart is what looks like a very acceptable slug, but the felt is hard furniture grade and there is a loose bb inside. Last is my slug, which you are familiar with and laugh at me about. Would you not say that the yellow glue dart is just as domed as the glitter one? Why was it allowed? Anyway, as a test of their safety I shot them at a cement brick ten times each from my janky ass +bow. And these are the results:
Posted Image
As you can see, some of these darts didn't fare too well. In fact, the hot glue and washer one broke first shot and the felt one broke on the fifth. The dome dart is as strong as it was before hand, along with the slug. Now I dont know about you guys, but I would much rather be shot by either of those darts than something that flies of and sends metal through the air. If we are going to destroy the dome darts because they are unsafe, should we not destroy all other darts we deem unsafe? I know this doesnt speak for the whole of so cal, but it needed to be brought up.

I have been Nerfing in So Cal for almost 5 years now and I have never seen those yellow glue darts before and can guarantee that we would never let those be used.

We're banning the super domes because it's getting to the point where the mass of one of those darts is 2 or 3 times that of a standard dome dart. There's a noticeable difference, that we feel is unsafe due to the large amount of hard mass, when compared to a normal dome (which you have none of in your sample).

The darts in the community bucket are the unclaimed darts at the end of a day, some are basically trash. If you're using darts from the bucket, you're expected to sort through and find quality darts. Everyone here brings their own quality darts to wars, and we haven't had issues in the past with anyone getting seriously hurt from darts.

You can either choose to follow the rules which we set up, or not come.
Apollo has nearly 8 years of experience hosting wars, and I'm coming up on 5, so if you don't trust our judgement as Head Badass and Mr. Number 2, you don't get SCUN. We're a dictatorship, not a democracy. We know what is best for you, and while we're always willing to take dissenting opinions into mind, it's up to us, and other experienced Nerfers to make decisions when it comes to running things smoothly.

As far as I'm concerned, all of this talk about dart types doesn't belong here. If you want bring up your opinions about something and start a discussion, start a new topic.

Haven't been active here in a long time, but a friend and I are planning on making the trip from here in WA down to Armageddon this year if we can get the time off work.
Is there anyone in the local 'Geddon area that could house us the night before the war? That would be a huge help.

I'll be there this year +3. Haven't been down since 'Geddon 'Leven and I'm itching to get going. Apollo and/or Axelion, do you find a pipe-ring catch snap acceptable or do you only want clothespin and rainbow catches?
