so i am not a heavy modder, but i am also not a light one. i guess i am in the medium ranges. but i have been very interested in making some sort of bow. something bad ass. but looking over some random bow designs, i don't under stand how some things are made or things just aren't spelled out enough for me. would there be any suggested bow home mades for a noob in this specific field like me to work on. and preferable something with semi easy parts to get and not all that pricey. but beggars cant be choosers.

P.S. sorry if this is not where the post belongs, i could think of where else to throw it.

Judging by the way you're typing your posts, I'm not too sure that you should be allowed to have anything stronger than a modded reverse-plunger.
...but in all seriousness, if you're just starting, look into the SNAPbow design, as the parts are cheap (PVC and other bits and pieces), and it's fairly simple to make.
If you can drop a few extra bucks, and have good access to tools and supplies, the +Bow by CaptainSlug is incredible.

I think I'll let the mods take care of this one... But, anyways, I also agree on starting with a SnapBow Mk5. Start easy and keep moving up.

This more or less belongs in the homemades thread, although threads asking 'which gun is best' are discouraged. I'll give you another chance, but if you don't show any signs of improvement the next time you post, that's it. Read the New Members Guide and Code of Conduct.

I had a similar dilemma once upon a time. I sorta improved, but mostly based it off of the PACbow. I followed the bow arms section with a few modifications. My link I made the actual bow arms about 4' long and a single piece of 3/4" cpvc, unlike the two separate pieces he used. For the plunger tube, it's nothing more than 1' of 1-1/4" pvc. At the back of that, I screwed in a 3/4" pvc endcap with a 5/8" hole drilled so the plunger rod is centered. The plunger rod and plunger headis pretty much identical to that of a Snapbow (with the exception of a catchface on the plunger head). Once you have all that done, drill a 3/16" hole in the end of the plunger rod, and both ends of the bow arms. Feed some 3/16" polyester cord through everything and enjoy.



Anyways, sorry about the long rant, but if you read through it carefully and read through a few other bow writeups, it should make sense. If you have any questions, pm me and I'll help you through it. Be warned, I won't spoon feed you through every step.

New builders:
I would highly recommend starting out with a Snapbow mk V, or a HAMP. It may be tempting to start with a bow-powered blaster (considering how easy the materials are to find), but they're very easy to screw up.
