It works like this: If you are interested in helping create a source for rockets, then pledge whatever "donation" you would like. There are varying levels of rewards based upon the amount you decide to give, from as little as $5 all the way up to, well $100 was the highest level reward we created, but hell, if you give more than that, I'll make it worth your while. Think of it like a pre-sale, but in a way that doesn't charge ANYONE ANYTHING unless the donations meet the minimum required. This minimum is $575, which covers the bulk order of the supplies and fees for the Kickstarter service.
The rockets are designed to work directly with Nat-Geo/Uncle Milton RotoRockets, Iron Man Rocket launcher, and Estes Air Rocket launcher with little modification. Using a stock OPRV pressurized Roto-Rocket, the rockets will fly 60-70 feet. Higher pressures naturally produce longer ranges.
With a properly sized (1.00" OD) barrel, they are also able to be fired from Titans, Jobars, Cobras, and likely anything else that is ridiculously large. I will be making some screw-on replacements for Titans available as well.
Now, a note for the kids: Don't think that just because you don't have your own credit or debit card you cannot be involved. As a parent, I know that I would give a hard look at helping my kid support something that they were really interested in. Please talk to your parents and have them take a look at the Kickstarter service. It is all about protecting everyone involved as much as possible. There has been a lot of positive press about them lately too.
It won't take a lot of money to make this happen for the community. If everyone who voted that they would buy reasonably priced rockets in the poll pledged even $5, we would be mostly to the goal in a very short time. I will also be posting this information on other nerf sites because this is not just a Nerfhaven gig. We want to bring these awesome rockets to the whole community. Please, if you have any questions, let me know. I will be posting more pictures and hopefully a video soon.
