Is the NiteFinder's spring catch strong enough to take a stock spring, plus a Hyperfire's spring?

Just try it. The worst thing that can happen is it doesn't hold and you have to open it and replace the catch spring.

Well, if it isn't strong enough, repeated misfires can degrade your catch. Better safe than sorry in my opinion.
the only mod you can have is the range extetder mod.

I have never needed to replace the catch spring in my nitefinders, all I do is cut the notch a bit deeper in the priming rod and that hold great even with the massive home depot springs.

I have done just that, (adding a hyperfine & stock spring) with ought changing the catch spring.

A nitefinder catch spring can catch massive loads. it could hold a [k26] no problem but just to be safe you should either dig the catch notch in the priming rod a little deeper or just put a stronger catch spring.

That sir, is false. Your best bet is just to go ahead and either replace it, or add another one to it. The stock catch spring is strong enough to hold back a Home Depot Everbuilt spring, but just barely. If you prime it and then tap it against something/drop it the catch will fail.

Alright, I think I saw someone reinforce it with a Pepsi lid thingy, so I will do that, and Dremel a bit out of the catch in the rod, thanks for all the help.

They did add another spring along with the catch. But if I remember correctly, in their video write-up of an earlier version, they did replace the catch spring. The catch spring is not 100% stock, they added a little more of another spring to improve it.Hmmm.........

I know this post is pretty much dead but just wondering, Where would one buy a stronger catch spring? Anywhere on mcmaster?

McMaster part number 96565K36 is generally considered to be a good catch spring for Nitefinders and many other blasters.
