My friend gave me his old longshot. After double-springing it with a BBB spring, and every easy mod I could do, it worked great. Now the screw that attaches the plunger head to the plunger rod has stripped, and I need a way to get it to stay again. Any ideas?

So did the thread get worn or did the head get stripped? If its the head and the screw isn't in then just go to a hardware store and look for a same diamtere screw and replace it. If its stripped and in the plunger then your kinda fucked. Try pliers to spin the screw and use the screwdriver as best as you can to twist the broken screw back out.

The screwhole on the plunger rod is what stripped. I thought about glue, but that would be horrible. I think a larger diameter screw would work well.

Well hot glue wouldn't be ideal here. I suggest you do all the modification you want to the springs then epoxy putty the whole screwport and then put the screw in. If you're lucky the screw might create threads in the putty but don't count on it.

OR just create a new plunger head. It shouldn't be too hard.

You could tap it if you could find a tapping set small enough.... Creating a new plunger head might be the easiest though, although if I'm right the screw also goes into the actual plunger bar doesn't it?

It sounds like your kinda new to modding from your post, so if your uncomfortable with creating a new plunger head I suggest going with the epoxy putty. You could try to fill the screw port about halfway full with epoxy putty, and then put a little silicone grease on your screw so the putty doesn't stick to it and screw it in. Wait like an hour and see it the screw comes out, and bam you have new threads! If the screw doesn't come out, don't force it, just know you now have a solid stuck on plunger head

I would say to use a larger screw. Much easier and works better than trying to make a plunger head for the first time.
If two powerful is a problem then just go with one powerful. I guess this style of hopper will work even beyond three powerful..
