Along time ago I moddified 2 of my mavericks. I took out the air restrictors, the firing pins, did the extended turret drop mod, did a spring replacement in one and the penny mod in another. It wasn't until I recently integrated one of the mavericks into my lonhshot that I actually started using them however. Since then I've noticed that both of them don't always rotate the turret when the trigger is pulled. It seems to be friction between the turret and the head of the plunger tube that is causing this problem, but I can't figure out why. Does anyone have any insight into this problem?

Lubing the rotation mechanism might help; if that doesn't work, swipe a sanding block lightly over the plunger head a few times to loosen it up a bit.

the only mod you can have is the range extetder mod.

Slug ran into this problem in his Mav drop-turret mod, just re-position the extension spring, or add one. Other things that will help are gluing the clutch. Lubing/Sanding will only decrease the range of your blaster and make it worse.

Link provided for you.

If two powerful is a problem then just go with one powerful. I guess this style of hopper will work even beyond three powerful..

The currently mostly inactive man, but always the man.

Obviously, you've seen the insides of these, so you should know which extension spring mysterio's talking about. Look in some of your local hardware stores for springs, I suggest ace or doitbest, I don't think lowes or homedepot have a wide enough selection of springs for what you'll need. Replacing the spring, just take the one you want to replace worth you, and feel the springs for a stronger one that's the same length. It will make your trigger pull slightly stiffer, but it shouldn't be too bad.

unfortunately home depot and lowes are the only options where i live :( Hopefully repositioning the trigger spring and gluing the slip clutch will be enough, but if not Home depot has a box of assorted springs that i think might have useful springs for trigger returns, catch's, etc.

But from now on whenever I open up a stock blaster I'm gonna think to myself "what mechanisms did hasbro implement in this gun to intentionally limit it's performance?" The slip clutch thing was clearly to enable the turret to handle the abuse of a little kid spinning the turret while it's attached to the ratchet.

They're both good stores, and their pipe is tons cheaper, but I like to get my springs at DIB or Ace, jsut because they sell a large variety of springs individually. But the spring box may be a good option, and having lots of random springs is a good thing. I keep EVERYTHING. Except for shells, I save all my screws, just because they're all the same size, so I can replace worn heads easilly, and I keep all of the springs I come across, and a bunch of other stuff. I don't keep the locks that I've removed, or the parts of shells that have been minimized off.
