In preparation for an upcoming HVZ game, I was brainstorming ways to attach a flashlight to a gun (aside from the obvious Duck tape)

Here is what I came up with:



Materials:

• Stampede shield
• Small Mag light (was about 8 bucks at Walmart)
• epoxy putty
• saw
• phillips head screwdriver

first step is to take apart the (mostly useless) stampede shield
if you notice, once the shield part is off you'll notice that you are left with a relatively nice platform for making attachments (in this case a flashlight)

outline your flashlight of choice on the top yellow plate and cut it out (I picked the Mag light for two reasons: its cheap and reliable, and it fits well in between the two orange parts on the mount)





then cut out the lines you made



finally, use epoxy putty to secure everything together

This is a neat idea, but I would rather just duct tape it on. It would make it so you could take off the flashlight and put it wherever you want on the blaster.

How stable would this hold larger fleshlights, perhaps if undergoing large force.

That was my goal (I know the flashlight attachments that Nerf sells are pretty much useless as a flashlight)

I don't know how stable a bigger one would be, but I tried to shake this one off earlier, it wasn't moving. so I think it will stay on even while running (and possibly even tripping and falling)

yes, only the middle part of the flashlight is attached, so access is easy at both ends on the flashlight

Thats a pretty cool use of the otherwise worthless tac rails man. I recently took the N-force Dagger and mounted it inside of an emptied out Recon laser sight and this created a bayonet attachment. Just throwing it out there as another attachment idea.

An easier method, in my opinion, would be to just remove the internal tactical rail clip itself, and glue it/epoxy it to that, having removed the pieces which stick out the top. However, I use smaller torches (about the length of the clip itself), so I dont know how it'll fair with the longer torches which you use.

I tried that, (I have multiple rail clips that I am trying to find uses for) I didn't really like how it looked, or how strong it appeared to be.
