I'm setting up a nerf war with my friend but I'm a noob and he is too. I need to know wat gun/guns to buy. All I have now is one modded (to the directions on this site) NightFinder. But it only gets around 50-60 feet with bad acuracy ( I used the marker tube of a Pantone paint marker instead of crayola ). I was thinking of a tech-target and another machine gun. Any help you can give as to guns that are in stores now that are good would be great. Thanks. ^_^

The Techtarget is a very good gun once properly modded, although on the expensive side. I'd just go with another nitefinder, and just mod it really well. Trust me, if you do it right, you will NOT be disappointed... Mine gets around 70 with bands, it's awesome. As for a machine gun, I'd say rapidfire20's if they are still around in your area. Once modded, they have low range but high firepower. But that's what machine guns are, right? Also, you could probably get your hands on a Lanard Blast Bazooka as well, those are pretty nice once modded. At least they still sell them around me, and I live in Wisconsin.

All depends on what you got at your toy stores and your modding skills. A TTG would be nice. If you could find a Lanard MaxShot, FirstShot, or Blast Bazooka those are all good guns too. Modding difficulty on those is higher though, that is if you want maximum preformance. If you can find an Airtech 3000 those are a nice buy also. See what guns your stores carry and we'll tell you which are the worth it.

Another great indoor gun is a Blastfire, one of my indoor favourites. Indoors, most guns shoot far enough, so you want a primary with (preferably) a high rate of fire and a reliable sidearm.

you can have serious fun with a supermaxx 3000 even without mods, but if you do get to modding it, that gun is a complicated son of a bitch. But, come to think of it, it's got a high RoF, and mediocre range for a stocker.

An air bazooka wouldn't be a bad choice either, it's alot like the lanard blast bazooka, except everything is simpler.

Also, if you want a close range, fast paced war, don't be afraid to pick up some ballguns, I've had alot of fun with them thangs.

finally, dollar store guns aren't always terrible, but most of the time they are. here are a few that don't quite stink too much: 1: the Fire Power Spin Shot (four shot, semi-auto pistol) 20-30' 2: Space Defender set (single shot, I'm not sure wether they're still available) 25-35'

but anyways, nitefinder=good, at3k=great, max/first-shot=killer

there's my ten cents.

Your best bet right now is the Blast Bazooka if you intend on modding it. Once modded it is quite a good gun, and at only ten bucks, it's not a bad deal.

Ya, I had to use a Letraset marker for the barrel and that was too big for the end little orange thingy to fit over so that probably decreased acuracy and it was my first mod and didnt fit perfectly back together so there were probably some problems. I don't know exactly how many feet it gets but it acually stings now and can shoot clear across my street so whatever. I still think I'm going for the tech target, the Lanard Blast Bazooka (if i can find it) and somet thing at my local Toys R Us that holds 20 in the front and is a pump and trigger not the crank.

Indoors most of my friends and I just use double nitefinders or cram 5-7, one-inch long stefans into our guns. Outside for beginners blastbazookas are great for only $10.

Lanard Blast Bazookas and the whole Lanard line (First, Triple, Max Shot...) are at my local Sears.

(Anyone interested? PM me.)

Also see if you can find some twin teks at your Kmart, not that hard to mod,50 ft. straight with good accuracy. Another gun I like you can find at a dollar store or pharmacy store; It is like an Uzi thing that shoot little foam bullets. Just cut off the tip of the barrel and stick on 3-5" of 1/2 "cpvc and wala,A gun that shoots 45ft.straight and can fit in anyones pocket.

also a few more good guns:
the tek six (in the family with the twin tek)
the tek ten (same thing)
these wierd, clip-fed, five-shot, sm250/350-like knockoffs, they come with six clips, two
guns and a couple targets, they're made of transparent plastic, and advertise ranges of 30 ft.

I finally found an at3k in cincinnati. They have good range and a pretty good rof. But I might sell it since there's no one to have nerf wars with. What do you guys think I should do. Keep my sm 5k and sell my at3k or opposite? (I didn't want to make another useless topic for this question)

well, I'd sugjest keeping both of them, but if you really think you have to, sell the at3k, and keep the sm5k, it's worth more, and it's more impressive.
