Hello fellow DMV nerfers,

As you well know, DMV nerf has been in a state of "hibernation" for the last month or two. Well, I think it's about time to end this.
So I want to know, what are you ideas on future wars (Springtime)?
Would you guys be interested in regular wars every 1-2 weeks, or large, more planned wars every month or so? I personally am leaning towards a mixture of both-regular wars every 1-2 weeks, with an occasional (once a month or two?) larger scale/more well planned war. I think that this way, the smaller wars eventually just become a group of local people coming to play, with no real "defined host." Then, the larger scale, more planned wars could attract farther (NJ, PA, Southern) nerfers to come down.

What are your thoughts? Sunday or Saturdays? Location preferences? (Doom suggested that we test out many different venues, untill we find the ideal one.)

Thanks.

I like the combination of regular time wars with a monthly or so huge one.

Location Hopping sounds great.

I currently have no preference in Saturday and Sundays.

Once to twice a week might be a lot, but that's just my opinion.
As for the location idea, I like it, though I think we just stay away from D.C. Because of the cops.
I'm willing to host a war, Saturday or Sunday doesn't really matter for me.
And we might have to wait a month or two 'till it gets warm.

I'm not a dvm nerfer, but I live in south central PA, and would love to come to any wars anyone hosts, if they're less than 2 hours away from me.

WARM?! WARM?! BRO, WE MEN! WARM AINT NO FACTOR! But really, as long as it's not numbingly cold, or snowing, I'd be OK temp. wise.
Also, it's not once or twice a week that we're proposing, it's ONE WAR every ONE OR TWO weeks.

I guess okay for the temperature.
My bad, but that still might a lot, on darts and stuff. I would prefer once a month. But you do what you guys want.
EDIT: That park looks good Doom.

I suggest that we try Calvert Road Park in College Park. The park has good tree cover, convenient parking in the center, and is within a reasonable walking distance (0.7 miles) of a Metro station.

Sounds great, would love to get DC back to the dominant Nerf scene it has been. I'd love to get something going soon, whether that means January or February. I know Jlego might be coming in town in February, when I have some dates and schedule from him, I'll see if we can get something going for him.

Doom, That spot looks like a nice change to DC's traditional school yard "urban" area. The sooner the better.

In my opinion, the more wars the better. That being said, I cannot commit to coming to more than probably one per month (gotta work to pay the bills) :(. My only concern is that the areas nerfer population is too small to have even a 2v2 war consistently, BUT I have faith that if we continue to HAVE wars then the consistent population will grow.

In closing, I say go for it! The more wars the better but unfortunately I will only make it (at most) once per month.

I'm not so sure about Feb, but I know that Chaos and I have spring break from March 30th to April 9th so hopefully, we can get a war or two into that 11-day period. Chaos, are you free during your spring break or are you planning to go somewhere?

I should be free. Hopefully we can still get at least one war in Feb, even if I'm not hosting.

I agree on the mini war/ planned war thing. I also think we should try out different venues. Saturday and Sunday are both fine by me.

EDIT: Calvin John Park has a good playground. The park is in Rockville, MD. Here are some photos:

Please don't host on Superbowl Sunday.

Personally, unless I can get away for spring break, I'm out of the scene until summer. But, I'll be back with some new, kickass blasters.

So, at this point, I think we have enough of an "active list" to start planning our next war. I think that trying out the Frisbee Golf course that Doom posted would be nice, as it's got some nice, natural cover.

What dates in February work for you guys? I think I'll only be able to host/go to wars on Sundays.
However, I was thinking that, for these smaller scale wars, we could just have less of a defined host, so it'd just be a bunch of guys getting together on a weekend to play with Nerf blasters, since we all know the rules, and we expect each other not to act like douches.

Thoughts? Location suggestions? Anyone have mobstacles/willing to help make some for the "communual supply"?

1. Any day besides Super Bowl Sunday.
2. Good idea.
3. The playground I suggested.
4. My push-up mat from NENO will work.

Anyone interested in me bringing community doughnuts?
EDIT: If we end up using the golf course, let's try not too shoot any old geezers ;D

Yes! Can't wait for a date/location to be picked.

Aside from that, I am willing to help pay for mobstacles. (or I could make them, and collect some donations at the wars?) Unfortunately this means that either:

a) the mobstacles will not be present at wars I am not attending
b} somebody else that more frequently attends will have to store these said mobstacles

I wouldn't have a problem storing them, however I am unsure what my attendance will look like. If there's one in February, and it's not the 4th, I likely won't be there.

Maybe, try to spread out the storing of mobstacles over everyone that is atleast semi regular ? So, if say the person that has most or even half the DMV's mobstacles is unable to attend for any reason, we're not out as much cover ?

I'll chip in my part happily, as long as it remains in my nerfing budget.

Phree, I'd happily chip in a part towards mobstacle construction. I have two mobstacle frames made, I'll try to get fabric/tarp on them soon. I also have some extra tarp I may be able to donate. I could also store a few if you want.

What location, Beall or College Park do you guys prefer? Other suggestions?

As far as dates, I'm thinking 2/19 or maybe 2/26 . I don't think that the first two Sundays work for me, and I'm almost sure that no Saturdays work for me.

Let's get this thing going!

I can chip in for the mobstacles. And I still have all that pvc from DCNF #1, blitz' core.
Parks, I don't really have a preference.
18th I can't make, but I can the 25th.

Alright, so does the 26th work for anyone else? Anyone have any location preferences? If so to the former, I'll go ahead and post a thread for the war.

Not sure if I would be able to make a war around here. I haven't been active for a little while, but I would prefer saturdays. (sorry I'm sort of late)

Neither weekend (Feb 17 or 24th) work for me. March is much better for me, so I will have to sit this February war out -_-.

I may be able to make 2/26 yet! Unknown yet, need to make sure my friend will be not tired from work the night before/not doing college shit on that sunday. And I need to supply him completely.
