We had some brief downtime today due to a database crash on our shared hosting. It seems another user who subscribes to the same provider was running some really inefficient code and the database service ground to a halt for a few minutes before they restarted it. As far as I can tell, no data was lost, and the site was only down intermittently over a period of about a half hour. Since we're not running on a dedicated server this is bound to happen from time to time, but our hosting company has always provided excellent service in the past, so I don't expect this to be a common problem.
As always, for longer term issues and downtime, you can check the NerfHaven twitter account at http://twitter.com/nerfhaven

Had some more downtime today after a major network outage at our host's datacenter. The site was only down for about an hour, and we shouldn't be having any more issues, at least for now. Thanks for bearing with us.
Edit: Turns out the host's network was subject to a DDoS attack. They're upgrading their load balancing hardware and other DDoS mitigation systems already, so hopefully this won't be an issue again.
