Hey guys, I used to nerf a lot, modded quite a lot like 5 years ago, then i dropped it for some time.

Basically, what are some good guns out there today that I can mod over my holiday break? Is the longshot still a viable option? Whats new these days and what gun is the most modifiable?

Thanks

Cross reference the Nerf Products Awareness thread with the mods/PJs thread. Or just look up toys r us or target catalogs, and look up promising blasters in the mod directory.

By the way, the longshot got discontinued (horrible, horrible, horrible.)

If you really nerfed 5 yeas ago and just recently came back, you'll find that homemades are far more effective than longshots. However your best bet for stock blasters would still be Longshots and most airguns (Big blast, Airtechs, Ultimate missile blast to name a few) provided you can find them. However it is true that longshots are ULTRA RAREly sold in stores, unless the store happens to have a back stock somewhere that was somehow forgotten, as is the case with pretty much every other blaster with great modded performance. Other good options would be ERTL Pump action shotguns and ERTL Rapid fire shotguns.

The advice given so far is sound. Check out the modifications/ pj and homemade threads pinned in their respective forums. My personal advice would be to read those threads and search the trading forum for who is selling reliable homemade springers. The latest generations of snap have most of the functionality, if not the polish, of their more expensive poly carbonate counterparts.

That said, I don't want this thread becoming an argument over blaster viability, or simply a breeding ground for bad advice. What's been said so far is sound, and sufficient for you to get started. I'll end it at that.
