Hey guys,

First off, if this thread is innapropriate for this forum, please, admins, let me know.

As you know, the last DC Nerf Fest war was back in September. Since then, the only war has been NENO hosted by Modsrus back in November. I just wanted to give you guys a quick update on the wars in the area that I plan on hosting (and not hosting) in the future, as I seem to have hosted the majority of the wars (like 80%) in the area in the last year. This does not mean (and you shouldn't make this assumption) that I am to be the only almighty war host in the area. I would personally love it if others stood up and hosted a war.

First of all, unless we find a suitable indoor venue i nthe area, I think we're pretty much done with DCNFs for the year, unless someone else wants to host a war (tacticool snow war? :P).

Next, I have decided to make DCNF (DC Nerf Fest) just a series of wars during the summer, probably stating in June and going up to late August, anually. Any other wars I host during the year shall be deemed a different name.

I plan on hosting my next war in Spring of 2012. You can look foward to it being then. After this winter, I should be becoming pretty active in the war-scene again. Hopefully I will start having a war at least every 2 months ( I will strive for every month, although it's unlikely) up 'till the summer season begins.

When I do begin to host wars again, they will most likely be at either Beall or Fleming for now. If I do find a better park/school between now and then, I'll let you guys know.

Lastly, woul there be any interest in creating an email-contact group list for all local area (or any one else interested, I guess?) nerfers? So that I could reach you all through email, rather than having to make a thread like this or lots of PMs on here? I think that'd be much more convenient, if I or anyone else needed to get an announcement (important stuff, not just spam, of course) to everyone else, such as changes in war schedules, plans, polls, ideas, etc. If so, please just leave a reply here saying so, and I'll start to make one/tinker with one.

That's all for now, just thought I'd update you all o nthe status of my war output, as I have gotten a few people asking me.

See you all in Spring!

I've been looking into attending a DC/surrounding area war. Depending on what the situation is like and where exactly your war will be will depend on if I can show up.

Winning rounds is rewarding, deal with it. We don't play fucking patty cake over here.

If I find a location that's suitable and can get atleast 5 others confirmed i'll try and host one, after I get my 3 commissions in.

I'd be all for that email thing, but I don't check my personal as much as this site, and that's only cause i'm trying to jump on a job aplication reply email.

I am planning on hosting an indoor war this winter at some point. That being said, it will almost certainly be in Harrisonburg, thus being just me and friends here. BUT, I will be sure to make an event here on NH just in case people do want to make the trip down from the DC area.

Email sounds like a find idea, but honestly, I think that threads on here stir up more interest than an exclusive email list would. Just my 2 cents.

Either way, I am totally looking forward to whenever the next war is, period.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. At this point, I think I'm just gonna hold off 'till Spring to host my next DC area war. If someone else wants to step up and host an indoor war, that'd be great.

Anyone more thoughts? What spring months (tenatively, of course) would work best for everyone?

Hero, if you or any of your PA buds could make it down for a war, that'd be awesome. Koree and Shandsgator came down last DCNF and I think it was pretty awesome.

Wheaton is a good venue for early spring (March, before the hordes of picnickers come out of hibernation). I still think General Getty is just fine for small wars where you aren't expecting more than 6-8 people. You're still going to run into the problem of MSI practices at Beall ES before June and after August.

I'd suggest planning on one or two "majors" with the intent of having as many attendees as possible. That way people from PA/NJ/etc. can plan ahead and they don't end up making the trip only to have four or five other people show up. Those would be good wars to host at Beall or Fleming.

Indoor wars are alright, but the only possible venues that come to mind are the Airsoft Tactical Arena in Rockville or the Ultrazone laser tag arenas in NoVa. I don't want to have to deal with UM's bullshit trying to secure the Art-Soc building for an indoor war or deal with Terp Nerf's inability to run a war smoothly.

I'd like to stay updated on events in the area, but keeping it on the board is probably the best.
Unless you want to make a Meetup group or something.
Speaking of, there's an HvZ event this weekend in DC, which I am shamelessly whoring out because we need a couple more people to RSVP to make it happen.

I don't live in the DC area, but I am a Virginia resident, so I thought I would put my say in this.
I do plan to make it up to DC for some wars and I think an indoor war would be a great idea. I also think email is a good idea, but I do think that there is more activity on the forums.
I hope to see some of you guys at a war soon. :D

Thanks for the feedback. I guess ill hold off on the email thing for now. Unless someone else takes over, I am taking my energy away from indoor wars for now, sorry. I plan to host the next war sometime at the end of March, hopefully we'll be ble to get sme "foreigners" to come (PA, NJ, NY).

I would, if I can find a suitable indoor place semi near me and reasonable enough for others to come to for a war.

If you could host it around Easter, that would be great.

Sorry if this is a little late, but I got excited when I saw news about a Nerf war within sort of reasonable driving distance. Nerf wars are very scarce in the West Virginia area for some reason....
But if one could be hosted around March 18th-25th, or May 5th or later, that would be awesome. Unfortunately my university will not be having a break during Easter.

There is no such thing as overkill. There is only cost efficiency.

My friend used to have wars in Morgantown. But anyways, i'm sure there will be some wars in that time frame and I hope you can make them.
