The Rubber band that traps the air in the Plunger system keeps coming off. The Stock rubber band that was on it got worn out and I used some rubber bands I got from my orthodontist. But The Rubber bands keep getting loose due to to much friction with the plunger and the bands I am using. So the dart blaster jamming the plunger so I can't cock the dart blaster at all. I am using an Aluminum Plunger Replacement because I need the durability. So are there any specific bands I should be using for the plunger so they won't keep getting loose. If you need more info just let me know.

If by rubber band you mean O-Ring (use the search bar) then replacements can be bought cheaply from local hardware stores. If you have a broken Nerf gun, they can also be salvaged from there.
In regards to size, the O-Ring should be tight around the well where it sits and not create too much friction with the plunger tube. With a recon, friction should be minimal due to its limited power while still maintaining a good seal. In my experience, a maverick O-Ring works fine for a recon, or if these dentistry bands were working before, make sure you lubricate them with O-Ring safe lube i.e. Plumbers Silicone Grease or otherwise.
Hope that helps.

Fist off, they are indeed called O-rings. They are kind of similar to rubber bands in a way, but also different. Get O-rings, not rubber bands. Local hardware stores should sell them in all different sizes, so go look around and see what fits.

O-rings in my experience last quite a while, so something is not right. Sounds like you don't have enough lubrication. That, or the plunger tube is not as smooth as normal on the inside. If so, you will have to buy a new one.

Well, to start with, did it ever work?
What caused the O-ring to break?
My suggestion is to measure the PT ID and bolt OD with a pair of calipers so you have an idea of the right size O-ring, then head to the hardware store and get a replacement.
OTOH, if you were modding it for power and decided it's a lot of trouble, look for Orange Mod Works online and buy their Recon replacement parts kit. It'll cost almost as much as the Recon, but I've heard good things with it.
If you're not willing to drop good money after bad, I don't blame you - it IS a Recon after all.
