If you don't have any luck, try starting your own nerf scene. Ironically, I live in a community with a large filipino population, and my friends are slowly warming up to the idea of nerf wars and modding nerf guns. You could do the same. Show your friends your insanely modded super cool cardboard penetrating blasters, and convince them it is a hobby worth taking up. Good luck.
