In the Big Bad Bow does the small round hollow thing above the PT space in the inner/back shell of the blaster do anything? I would like to know before I chop it off so I don't ruin my blaster.

Any other site, I'd give you a more helpful answer, but that's not the way things are done here.

Go ahead and cut it off. If you ruin your blaster, you've learned a lesson.

Or, look at the internals pics and see if you can figure out why they decided to waste the money to cast that chunk of the blaster.

Do your own research, and come back to tell us what you learned.

Not to follow in taers footsteps and troll face, I am pretty sure it has no effect on the blasters ability to shoot. What I think it does is guide it for priming and closing. It also keeps you from pulling the blaster half all the way off.

I'm pretty sure that piece helps to stabilize the back piece and keep it inline with the front section.

You can cut it off and as long as you don't try and get peak performance out of the 3B you should be fine 80% of the time.

There are other components in the shell that will mostly do what you need it to do under reasonable forces.

If you are doing a spring replacement then you need to keep it in or else your blaster will spectacularly fail require you to unscrew it and then... put it back together.

Cycle the blaster a few times with the shell half open (take out the spring!) and maybe you can figure out why it's there.
