You spoke about not bleeding fast enough, part of the reason is that most tank expansion mods only/still use 1/4" (O.D.) x 0.17" (I.D.) tubing to deliver air from their reserve tank to the firing tank. I've been using vinyl tubing with a 5/16" I.D. and have discovered that this can make all the difference. It's something I picked up from SSCentral (SuperSoakerCentral - for those who don't know)forum. The stock barb on the 1.5k/2k and 3k tank would have to be replaced or a much larger hole would have to be created but once the airflow to the tank is increased, the air will 'bleed' faster.
I did this simple adjustment in my HyperMaxx and it jumped from 90' ranges to 130' ranges. Plus the 5/16" I.D. vinyl tubing is slightly more elastic than it's skinnier cousin. It kind of acts like a bladder. Part of the reason an elastic tank produces better ranges is because it delivers a more consistent pressure through out the firing of the dart through the barrel. A CPS system, if you will. Also, having the afore mentioned bladder 'closer' to the firing tank will produce greater power and ranges.

Why couldn't this be accomplished in the search engine? I know it takes some time to weed through the hits, but it's still quicker than waiting for replies. The people responding to this thread are certainly using it.
Correction VACC, ONE person searched this entire forum and found only 1 thread, and it didn't answer the question asked by the OP.
Buff - the only tank expansion threads I've ever seen is on back pressure tanks, and they've not always worked as well as hoped.
The only thing I can think of is finding a ideal size PVC to wrap around the tank, cut the original tank in half, extended the firing pin and solvent weld the 2 tank halves to the PVC.

Back on topic before someone locks the thread. I have a 2K tank sitting around - I'll see if I can't graft something onto it.

I made that tank out of two AT2K tanks, so yeah not very practical but it does work. Similarly, you could just cut a tank in half and if you have some straight tube each half fits into well you can make it however long you want (After a certain point you will have to cut the pin and figure out some sort of spring configuration to push the seal back into place) which is what I think SGM did, and what Brit was talking about.
CPVC I think works well too, drill a 5/8" hole in the side of the tank and solvent weld or whatever some pipe and couplings to make some more space. I heard this works on hornets/sspb's; I have a triple strike tank with similar mods but I don't have it hooked up to tubing to see how well it works or if it makes a difference. Also, I think there is a BBBB mod by Foamfoot who kinda did this with a 3k tank inside the BBBB shell.
Makeitgo is also very right about the tubing needing to be larger... same concept as airflow modding a 2k.
