**NOTE** This thread is for DMV area nerfers and anyone who would potentially be interested in coming to a future DCNF war.

As you know, DCNF2 went quite well, which means...DCNF3 is coming!
However, I have an obligation every Saturday that prevents me from doing anything else during the day, I will probably not be able to host wars on Saturdays from now 'till late Springtime. Would you guys be alright with Sunday wars? Time frame would be the same/similar. I wanna be sure that a good amount of locals would be able to make it before posting the war.

Also, as for the date, I have been considering a war on Oct. 30th, and then another one mid-to-late Nov. However, would Octo.30 be too soon? If we do not have a war in Octoboer, I'll try to do a mid-November war, to take advantage of this great fall weather before it starts snowing (although MD snow isn't usually too bad).

Let's talk venue. I've been thinking about switching off between Fleming and Beall, as they are two kinds of play styles, but both venues are quite nice. I think switching off would also prevent potential boredom of a venue. We could also try out new locations.

Sorry for such an un-structured thread, I just wanted to get all of this out there and get some opinions and thoughts.

Thanks.

The 30th of October is a no-go for me. I will do anything I can to help coordinate future DC wars, just let me know! Also, my vote will always be Bealle. I wasn't at DCNF2, so I can't speak for that venue, but so far in my nerfing career Bealle is my favorite venue. Also, if we are laying it all out there right now, the weekend of Nov. 12 is not good either. Tis my 21st birthday.

EDIT: While we are asking questions, would anyone be up for coming to the JMU (Harrisonburg area) for a war I hosted?

I'd be in the mood for a Nerf war on the 30th assuming I don't have work to do that weekend. (I probably won't just based on my current plans, but I can't be sure until a few days before.)

As I said on IRC, in general Sundays are as good as Saturdays for me.

Either venue would be fine for me. I'd also be willing to try other venues.

I'd go to Harrisonburg if I could get a ride there.

Once we get a venue and day of the week that is agreeable, I think it'd be easier to develop the "Nerf war habit" if we'd just stick to having a war at X every Y weeks. Just a thought.

I'd be more than willing to help you out in hosting. Sunday wars are good for me, but if you have sunday wars you may have some people that can't make it for church, but Friday nights are for those who are really close, and definitely should be indoor in this time of the year. Am they should definitely be weekends, so Sunday is the best choice to me, wouldn't be too great a war without you Chaos.

I do think October 30th may be too soon, hopefully I can make myself a decent springer primary by mid November or something....

As far as venue is concerned, Switching off between the 2 locations we have used would be good, as well as mixing in some other new areas. But, I believe that if say Beall has some event there on the primal date for everyone, it'd be better to move the war and keep the date.

Also, I was hoping to try and get some TaerKitty Mobstacles, but sucky $7.90 or so an hour job + being a college student = not much cash for Nerf.

Phree, would you know if that is close to Chantilly/Bristow ?

I might be trying to find a war location in Bowie, or PG County, for my own or even a Future DCNF use, but I don't know what to look at for the most part.

Wow DCNF's are on a roll.
30th is good for me I think. For the location, both parks were great.
Do we have any video from DCNF#2?

I could make 10/30/2011, most likely. Sundays work much better for me than Saturdays.

Who could make it on Nov. 6th, at Beall E.S.? I think 10/30 may be too short notice, but having a war around Halloween would be cool.

Thoughts?

I probably would not be able to hit the 5th of November, unless I get my provisional liscense 4 days before and get some friends to wanna come.

Most likely I can't make 11/5, but there's a small chance I could. ChaosPropel, did you mean 11/6? That would be a Sunday while 11/5 would be a Saturday.

Yep, if you look at DCNF #1 thread, you can see pictures of the school.

Sundays are meh. I much prefer Saturdays. I can get out to anyplace that is Metro-accesible.

As I said in the DCNF2 thread, I think we should start branching out and trying out some of these other parks in the area. There are plenty of them, not just in MoCo but in Prince George's and in Northern VA too.

I agree on the location thing, if a Place in PG is found you'd like me to check out, I can try to(i'm usually in the Bowie area).

But you can rule out Allen Pond park in bowie, i'm pretty sure.

It really doesn't make a difference to me whether wars are on Saturdays and Sundays. Anyway, I should be able to make it on the 6th, assuming I can get a ride there.

Unfortunately, I will most likely not be able to host any more wars this year, for various reasons, so DCNF 2 will most likely be the last of 2011. Stay tuned, however, for possible (not likely) changes to this.
See you all in the spring.

I will "host" if somebody up there can find a park that is available and suitable. I am totally down for at least 1 more war in '11.

The first weekend in Nov. looks fine to me; now we just need a location.
