PICS COMING SOON

Hey guys. As you can see I'm an FNG right now and this is my first post. Don't eat me.

So, this is my easiest ever mod for nerf n00bs. All you need is a screw driver and some duct tape. I hit 60+ ranges with this, which is good for not making any mods to the actual tank. I didn't even cover the OPRV.

So, take your UMB apart.Take out that wierd looking bulky orange piece at the front. Take out the tank system. Cut off the orange piece on the end of the black stick on the right. MAKE SURE TO LEAVE ON THE REST OF THE BLACK PART. Screw your gun back together.

Now make a strip of duct tape and cover the holes on the outside of the black tube. Put tape alllll around the inside of the tube until a stefan (or streamline) will fit inside and not fall out.

And there you have it. A ridiculously simple BBUMB mod with good results. PLEASE COMMENT as I would like to know how I did. Thanks.

I would usually not post until you take pictures. I understand what you did and its nothing new, and the method you used taping the inside of "barrel" is not a very good method because of how difficult it is to squeeze your finger in there and flatten it against the inside. I would consider it more simple to just glue on a coupler for the thing instead of messing with tape. Not a bad first post. You did a good job explaining and I understand what you did (unlike some other posts ive seen), but its noting new and there are no pictures. Not trying to eat you out, just advice.

Thanks man. That helps alot. And i just didnt feel like putting a cpvc coupler on because i didnt feel like sanding. (lol im lazy) this was a free mod for my brother and i didnt plan on wasting a coupler. But if I ever do one, I will take ur advice. Thanks for commenting.

i didnt plan on wasting a coupler.

Not to criticize but they cost about 30 cents. Also with a coupler you can get far better ranges, almost double, for little more effort.

While there is something to be said for ghetto mods, it is best said elsewhere. People here tend to look for mods that will last for the life of the blaster (or until the owner gets tired of it and re-mods the blaster). Duct tape on the inside of the barrel is definitely not a long-term solution.

People here also tend to look for craftmanship and investment. If you can't buy a coupler, you probably should wait until next allowance to post. They're cheap, and they're standard. Plus, per the above, they're practically de rigeur here.

Thirdly, most people here also expect stuff to be very good at whatever the modder set out to do - either it looks really nice as a paintjob, or it performs really well. Getting 60' with a stefan out of an UMB is anemic. Getting 60' with a streamline is ... pointless - they will go 60' all right, but not necessarily downrange. Getting 60' with a tagger, sonic, or sucker is pretty good, but I'm not sure I believe it out of a stock UMB - the dart/barrel fit, even with the duct tape liner, doesn't strike me as a very good seal.

Lastly, the powers that be tend to frown on people starting new threads with nothing new to contribute. Singling a UMB is pretty passe'. Without pictures, it's just asking to be locked. New threads are for writeups of stuff that hasn't been done before, but that people would want to do. While you could argue that using duct tape to line the inside of a UMB's barrel hasn't been done before, I'd return that most people wouldn't want to for reasons of durability and longevity.

And i just didnt feel like putting a cpvc coupler on because i didnt feel like sanding. (lol im lazy) this was a free mod for my brother and i didnt plan on wasting a coupler. But if I ever do one, I will take ur advice. Thanks for commenting.

I just saw this. Are you trying to see how quickly you can get banned?

- 'i'. Capitalization isn't just your friend, it's what will keep you from getting banned.

- 'didnt'. Punctuation isn't just your friend, ... etc.

- 'im'. See above.

- 'lazy'. This isn't the right place for you if you're lazy. People here may spend hours just designing a homemade or mod, then many more hours building it out.

- 'ur'. TxtTlk isn't your friend.

I'd say this belongs in the modification/paintjob picture thread, but you don't have any pictures. Unless you have somthing new or orginal, do not bother with a write up. As for the language problems that have been pointed out above, consult our Code of Conduct. Violations of said code will not be tolerated.
