The main feature is the "pre-charging" of the blaster. You press the side button, pump it up a few times, and you're ready to go. Then you can fill the blaster with water, pump a couple times, and get a high-powered stream of water. On the inside is this:
It turns out that this is, in a sense, a forerunner of the pulse-style tank. Instead of having a compression spring to pressurize the water chamber, you're setting up a temporary gas spring on the back side of the piston. That provides the extra oomph to simulate the CPS system that Hasbro has control over. Granted, water shots only last few seconds. But we aren't firing water...we use stefans
