Are you going to regularly do the aftermath thing, or is/was that a seldom thing if there were so many people couldn't do the date of the main war ?

Correct, there will be no aftermath this time, and in the future.
Attendance list has been updated.

Thanks Chaos, good to take into account. You always reply pretty quick, good hosting there.

I'm actually quite shocked and pleased with how the attendence list is looking. We're still 24 days away and if even half those on the maybe manage to come, we will again have another awesome war.

Edit: me and my confirmed guest might have problems in the large teams or multiple teams bigger than 2 players each knowing who's friend/foe cause we don't know everyone and this is gonna be even larger than the aftermath of DCNF 1.

Also what are the definitions of a pistol elegible for the pistol round ?

I might be able to make it depending on my school schedule.
Always bring your sword to battle.

I pity the fool who attempts to use a single-shot blaster against me.

Keo, we have flagging tape if we happen to need any... Pistols are usually considered as single shot blasters that shoot under 70-75ft. I might not be able to make it to this one, but I'll try...

To piggyback on what Sharvil said, I would consider pistols to be single shot blasters that shoot unger 70'.

I may not have a long range gun with no Joey and no Sharvil and likely not getting that singled LongShot back in order, and already have deals with both of them.

So things like the Barricade or a Manta pistol are not pistols for that round ?

Sure, I'll allow the Barricade, since they won't get as much range as a Singled NF, for example, which has a slower ROF.
The Manta pistol is also ok.

what about a recon with none of the attachments, but a bigger than 6 clip ?

I'm definitely not going to use that, and unlikely the other 2 mentioned if I still have them later.

Not a pistol.
Please PM with more questions like this, so we don't clutter up the thread.

Alright, war is no longer at Beall, as MSI has games there all month.

Any ideas for venues?

24th is an instant I can't make it.

I heard of 2 parks in burtonsville McKnew and Columbia, but never saw them/any pics, nor do I think I think I can get any.

I'd need a ride to any locations in Burtonsville.

I already recommended General Getty for its relative proximity (a whole lot closer to Rockville than any location in Northern VA) and the probability that there won't be any soccer there either. Unless you checked the schedule and MSI has games there too.

I've already hosted one war there, and it worked out well. We had 9-10 people, I believe, for M3 Encore last year.

The only other alternative in the vicinity that jumps to mind is Wheaton, and I already explained why I'd rather not try to have a war there.

Well I was talking to chaos on the irc about other venues and I found a place that might work. It's in Clarkburg, MD (30 seconds away from my house haha) called Ovid Hazen Wells Park, also known as Arora Hills Park. It's a medium size park with a playground, a big field, and 4-5 shelters. Te park is rarely busy, so we don't have to worry about pedestrians. The only problem is that it is not metro accessible... If we don't have anyone having a problem getting to the park, I think that this would be a grat place for a nerf war. What do you guys think?

Edit: I will upload pics later on.

Alright, I'm just about ready to change the location to Ovid Hazen Wells.
Will anyone/anyone's guest be taking the METRO to the war? If so, I'll consider a different location, as I want to accomodate all attendees as best I can, in hopes of making the war run as smoothly as possible.

Me, my other plus 1 and Christian would all be very unlikely for Clarksburg, especially my other guest; he'd be coming from Dunkirk. I'm willing to travel, but I don't wanna put my dad through that long of a trip and stuff.

Keo, it's 20 minutes from beall, but if your coming from Bowie, I understand how the 1 hour drive would not be easy.

It's 45 minutes from my dad's in Burtonsville, without calculating traffic and lights. Christian is college park, and my friend is in like Dundalk.

If you don't find anywhere else reasonably good, and it's only me and my 2 that can't make that location don't not have it at that location for our sake's.

I'm taking Metro, so unless there's a change in venue (or I can get a ride), I'm out.

Alright guys, as it seems to work for most people, war location is officially changed to Ovid Hazen Wells Rec Park in Clarksburg, MD. If getting there is too hard/far for anyone and if anyone has any major objections, please PM me. I will update the OP to reflect the location change.

Also, as Ovid has a lot of open field area to play, we will DEFINETELY NEED mobstacles! Anyone who can bring mobstacles (the more the merrier) will be rewarded/highly respected and thanked.

Looking over Google Earth images, it appears to be one gigantic field with nothing else really there but picnic shelters and a playground.

Oh, and porta-potties suck.

Are you sure there aren't any other venues you could find with more cover - trees, trails, etc.?

EDIT:
Clarksburg is halfway to Frederick. You might as well call it Frederick Nerf Out or whatever. The whole point of having a DC area war is to make it easier for folks in the DC area to attend.

I'm looking at MoCo Parks' website and see at least a half-dozen potential venues with better features and Metro access. Probably the best one I see is Cabin John Regional Park - not too far from Beall. The park has features similar to Wheaton and is accessible by bus.

Crowds could be an issue but I'm willing to try it out for once. We really do need to get out and find other options in the area when Beall is unavailable.

Another option is Fleming Local Park, which is ideal because the picnic area is first-come first-served (no reservations required, so no having to worry about getting bumped by a cookout or birthday party). There's nearby bus service too.

Some other options to look up that are close enough to Beall:
Good Hope Park
Long Branch Park
Meadowbrook Park
Norwood Park
Capitol View/Homewood Park

Dizzy, out of your list, I think that Fleming Local, Good Hope, Longbranch, Norwood, and Capital View-Homewood seem to stand out to me. I will check out as many of these parks, and possibly others when I can (preferrebely on the weekend, since that would be the best representation of how crowded these parts are). Can anyone who lives close to any of these parks check them out/take some pictures? That would be a great help.

The park has a a big open field (That is why we need the mobstacles), 2 playgrounds, one is big main playground and there is another smaller one next to it... There are also 3-4 shelters so we may be able to play and "Objective-type" game. The park is only 30 seconds away from me so I will go to up to park to take some pics this week.

A video of the park-

This is another video (I'm sorry if its not the video because my wifi is very bad and I cant play videos on my laptop)
