Those are pretty cool rubber band guns. I used to make rubber band guns out of K'nex. My pride and joy was a Vulcan turret with six bands that could be rapid and single fired.

I have a rubber band revolver too. Pretty fun.

Am I just fantastizing that this model looks like a Nintendo Zapper?

Oh well. Anyways, these designs seem more complex than many of the cheap ones I've seen here. Like the ones at Backyard Artillery, although they have the awesome Rubber Band machine gun!

I used to love K'nex.

How old is that thing? Looks beautiful.

Not in the game anymore, but it was great while it lasted. Thanks for the great years of fun, NH!

I made that beast about a year ago. It had ranges of 40 feet with tight rubber bands. Unfortunately I took it apart for my next big project, a non-firing but more realistic K'nex vulcan. It looks way better, but shoots nothing.

I'll get pics up.

Have you tried making a pistol or shotgun of some sort out of k'nex that shoots rubberbands. Im trying something now but it doesn't seem to be working.

I have made every gun type possible out of K'nex, including M16's, pistols, Klashnikov's, Vulcan's, shotguns, and mostly guns that have no resemblance to any existing weapon.

I make all my guns with three things. If you have these three things, it doesn't matter what else you have on it to make it cool.

1. A place to latch the rubber band on at the front of the gun.

2. A vertical place to latch a rubber band on towards the rear of the gun.

3. A trigger system that pushes up along the vertical latch.

Load the band across the latches, and pull the trigger.

Edit: Here's a cheap sketch I made in Paint for you:

Obviously the scale is off, and the pieces can be exchanged for others as the need sometimes calls for. Now it's up to you to integrate that into a gun.

Oh, and this design is merely single shot.

Actually, the vulcan was the only rubberband gun I took pictures of.

Here's the non-firing vulcan I made:

And here's my M16 before I made it shoot rubber bands:

Sorry, I don't have any more pics of K'nex guns.

Thats cool, what piece would you use for a place to latch the rubber bands on the front of the gun and the piece to latch the bands on the back of the gun? ^_^

Like in my Paint sketch, I used a green piece (4 slots) in front, and the rounded gray piece (one slot) in back.

Alright, this gun is going to be a bit bigger than a pistol im guessing since the trigger mechanism is pretty big. Im gonna go work on it now and then ill post some pics once im done. Thanks so much Vintage. ^_^

3DBBQ should have posted this whole thing under "Off Topic" since this has absolutely nothing to do about Nerf. It's fun, but it's not Nerf.

I don't know what kind of band-gun I bought, I just saw it for 12 dollars at a street sale and knew I had to have it. It's really well made (dunno how they carved it so smooth and functional) and has a rotating trigger like a revolver. I'll start taking pix as soon as I can but the Dig-Cam isn't working right now. I'm searching for something that looks like it as you read this. :(

Is yours twelve shot?

Actuelly, I just finished one. Quite simple, I took two pieces of wood and screwed them together. Than on the top I glued a cloths pin. Pretty acurate since it is a single shot, but has crappy distance.
