What bothers me the most about what they're doing is that they're allowing blowguns but not modified Nerf weaponry. Only licensed foam shooting blowguns seem fair; I'm positive I could use a PVC blowgun to outdistance any stock Nerf gun out there.

You've missed my point entirely you ass-douching tea-bagger. Regardless of your personal esteem for this publication (I previously had none, having never read this paper) I'd have to question the story's authenticity. The complete lack of sources (aside from 3 several rather vaguely attributed quotes) combined with the outlandish information and a picture of some indescript looking man in a uniform hardly satisfies my curiousity concerning the validity of the article. Maybe I'm off, maybe this happened, but I thought it funny that a paper bearing so similar title to the National Inquirer was boasting such an questionable tale. I'm not saying it didn't happen, I was just pointing out that maybe you shouldn't believe everything you read. Oh, and no one likes you.

As I said earlier, the article in my Star Tribune talked about a slightly different Every-Man-For-Himself game. Maybe this "Cincinati Enquirer" hadn't got the news right, but if the thing has supposedly gone on for about nine years, chances are it has.

There are an awful lot of coincidences now that I think about it. Everyone they interview claims to have invented the game. Those guns in the picture look like they were photoshopped in.

Here's a related commentary. Anyhow, I don't understand why anyone would doubt the legitimacy of these articles. Does the website seem like a fake? To me, it looks like your every day crappy Midwest news source. The game is definately a reality, although it sounds like it's pretty popular there.

We play Assassins here in Minneapolis too, though more often than not it's with squirt guns due to their availability and ammunition. Right now actually, I'm loaning my friend a couple weapons so he can use them in his game at a different high school. They have a WEBSITE so you can see what it's like. Click on the '98 page, that's my friend's older brother on the right in that pic. I'm going to try to get it going at my dorm next year, although it's more difficult since no one has access to the Nerf weapons from their childhood, being that most of us live a couple hours away from home. We'll be playing with modified weaponry, and the only safe zone will probably be when you're taking a dump. Because that just ain't right.

In summary, Vacc don't be angry about getting owned. It's a natural part of life.

If you look, the SSPB and RF20 have pretty precise shadows on the table. I'm not sure how hard that is to replicate in Photoshop, but I doubt a newspaper anything like the National Enquirer would take the time to add shadows of guns on the table. My guess is that it's just a poorly written article.

I agree. The whole website seems legit, however the article itself may have just been poorly written.

I also however wonder if the picture was Photoshopped. Maybe they took a picture of a table with the guns laying around, and added that in to the picture of the cop.

Just a FYI......

The Cincinnati Enquirer is Cincinnati's main newspaper. It's not at all like the National Enquirer.

Hehe, Dude, if you really think I was mad you obviously haven't been paying much attention. As for being owned....wait who owned me? The Newspaper which you think is legit and I question, or you for assuming, incorrectly, that I misread the title? Getting owned is confusing.

I'm from Cincinatti, kind of. But the Cincinatti Enquirer is like what everyone reads there. Heck, my dad still reads it like every day (all the new articles). I doubt that those pictures were made in photo shop. It would be great if someone actually went to that high school though.

Our school actually has a nerf game called Paranoia(played off-campus), but the essence of nerfing is removed. Basically, if you see someone with a nerf gun and strip naked, you are not allowed to be shot. So the people play for the latter part, not for nerf guns. I wish we actually had a real nerf war with our school.
