Why would you put this in Nerf Wars!?
Though a good point, it doesn't really answer the question at hand.
I go to the back of a crayola marker and pop off the cap useing a flat head screw driver. Next take out the ink thing on the inside. After that go to the front of the marker and cut off the part that you use to draw with and your done.

So, you don't use the crayola barrel as the actual barrel? More like a telescoped barrel using crayola, then pvc? I haven't tried using a crayola barrel before, I like brass and pvc.The crayola barrel isn't really the barrel. It should allow 1/2" PVC to fit over it nicely. Most guns need actual barrel, not just a place to stick the dart. Go buy more PVC or whatever you want. Also, next time, look under what topic you post.
I do have some markers lying around somewhere, so if they do well I might try one.
I am going to add this here to save space:
I just got a nitefinder (yes, I found my Target still has some). I want to replace the barrel, and I have 3 options. CPVC, Brass, and now Crayola. I am thinking telescoped brass would be more stylish, but would Crayola or CPVC perform better?

Ninz, there is no "best material" just what fits your darts best.

I really don't get it when you advise people to use CPVC cause it works better for you than brass does, then in the next breath you tell them to use what fits.Just use cpvc. I have telescoped brass, and cpvc, and I prefer the cpvc ones.

For most people, CPVC does not fit. At all.
Fortunately for all those people who can't use CPVC, brass tends to work pretty well with all FBR. Since it's available in 1/32" increments, the maximum deviation from the size you want is 1/64".
Crayola barrels are what people used before they knew about brass. It's the correct ID for 1/2" FBR but it's only about 4 inches long so you need to suplement it with PVC for pretty much any gun.

To quote him in the past....
A couple of times......Mmmmm... brass.
Don't take my numbers as gospel because you probably don't have the same FBR [that fits my beautiful brass perfectly, like] I do.
The unholy glow of brass... wow.

Well, he said he has three options. When he lists cpvc, Im going to assume it fits his darts.
I prefer cpvc, but I also advice him to use what fits his darts best, since I have no way of knowing which material works best for him.

I telescoped about 2 inches (tight) in 4 inches (looser). I haven't gone outside with it yet, but I like the results I am seeing inside. I pulled out the rod in the middle of the barrel, and took out the spring air restrictor. I also drilled a 1/4" hole through the cap that the plunger hits.
The nice thing about it, is that I can push the dart as far as I want down the barrel to experiment with different telescoping effects.
No, I don't have cpvc, I just listed it with the other materials I can readily get. I don't know if my darts will fit it or not.
