Apoc 2011 Game Types

For now, I'd like to discuss the round types we'll be playing at Apoc. The following are a certainty:
- 2 Team Death Match - It's nerf. If you don't like it, you're almost certainly doing it wrong.
- 4 Team Death Match - This has been awful at past apocs because people seem to think everything is better with more nerfers. No; wrong. We'll keep this manageable and it'll kick ass.
- Gunsliner Heaven - Ok, this is pretty much better with as many people as we can get on the right field. It's generally the only pistol round, so take advantage.
- RyanMcNumbers/Kanethemediocre Spectacular - I've gone ahead and asked these two to put together an objective game or two to provide an alternative for those sick of....shooting each other I guess. Should be awesome. They'll have to explain it further.
These are the round types that I KNOW will work with a massive amount of people who won't want to listen to rules. We will be running different rounds on different fields simultaniously, and according to a schedule.
If anyone has questions regarding these, feel free to speak up. I'd also welcome any suggestions from people who've attended past apocs. Just keep in mind that a) I was not the host for previous years, and I do things differently, and b) I may not reply to every suggestion.

Make sure 3-4 colors of flagging tape are available (I'll even volunteer to bring a couple of rolls, if needed...someone needs to remind me, though).
Last year there weren't enough colors and one group had to be the orange-yellow team. Result: Both the orange and the yellow teams thought I was on their side.
Sure, I got lots of free kills...but I felt pretty cheap about it.

Please read your last sentence back. Even if the group wasn't going to be anything but small, in 17 years of nerf wars I've never seen CTF work in a way that I would consider successful. There are going to be objective games that have been specifically tailored for nerf, as run by Ryan and Kane, but there will be no CTF.Could there be an ojective based game type say a CTF or a bomb type game. I know they work well with small group teams.
Hehe, is this going to dictate how many darts you bring? We'll play what the size of the teams allows within the set time period. The only thing that changes between 3 and 4 hit points is the duration of the round, and that's not going to be an issue. Every round will have a time limit, culminating in sudden death if neccessary. If the round is 30 minutes long, after 30 minutes everyone left standing is reduced to one hitpoint and given 5 minutes to finish up. I've never seen that culminate in a tie, but if it does, we'll just move on.Is Death Match going to be 3-15 or some other type?

Hey, I'm a definite attendee. This being my first war of any sort, I did a lot of research on past APOCs and such. I've got a tricked-out LS, which I've been told should be a fine primary, and I may even be able to get my Maverick back online. However, it's the gunslinger pistol round that I'm worried about. If I can't get my Maverick back online, and it's an iffy business, would you count a creaky old Triple Strike as a pistol? I'd actually prefer it to a Mav. It can shoot either rockets (at a very modest distance) or 3-6 darts (suction, haven't tried it with stefans yet for lack of stefans...) or any combo of the two types.
Gunslingers heaven typically requires single shot springer pistols like the nitefinder, lock n load, etc. Neither a maverick nor triple strike would count.

This informtation is accurate. Further, I'm considering a range limit on pistol rounds. The ENTIRE point of pistol rounds is to ensure that everyone's gun sucks equally, and gameplay can get up close and personal. Many people completely fail to grasp the change of pace we're trying to achieve and bring overhauled spring pistols that fire 80 - 100'. If you're interested in gunslinger heaven, I'd recomend putting together a lightly modified nf. 50-60 feet is a possible range limit.

A simple longshot front gun with ar removed works for this I assume?
Yeah, that's fine.

Also I have the ability to access good quality flags for CTF. I can bring them if wanted.

Melee weapons will not be allowed.Since the gameplay type is going to be up close and personal would it be possible to use a dagger made of a titan missile?
I thought I was clear enough about this, but perhaps it bears repeating. No CTF will be played.I have the ability to access good quality flags for CTF. I can bring them if wanted.

This takes place at Deal Park, correct?
Yes. It is better known as Joe Palaia Park, and can be found on google maps by that name if you're looking for directions.

Would it be possible to have a 2 team or possibly 4 team guardian round?
While I've heard of it, I really don't know anything about that round type. You'd have to elaborate. The likelihood of me running a round I've never run before at such a large event is not great, but I'm willing to listen.

Carpe Testiculum:
Teams: 2 or more.
Setup: Each team defends one base, which is represented by "n" bucket(s). Each bucket has "x" number of balls in it. "x" is dependent on the number of people playing, and the number of teams. "x" will be > the number of people playing. "n" can be whatever we want, but usually 1-3.
Respawn: Touch only, unlimited. All you need to do is touch your team's designated respawn to re-join play. Each team will have a spawn, > 100 feet away from their bucket(s).
Objective: Take balls from other opponent's buckets, and return them to your bucket(s). Team with the greatest number of balls in their bucket(s) after the round is over, wins. Balls not in buckets, or in a players hands, will not count towards the final score.
Special Rules: Only one ball may be carried at a time. If a player is hit while carrying a ball, they must drop it where they were hit.
This game is easily customizable. We may tweak the rules a bit if we need to.
Defend the Core:
We tried this variant at the last Spano and it worked quite well.
Teams: 2
Setup: Two cores, back-to-back, w/ one respawn for each team on the opposite side of your core.
Respawn: Touch only, Unliminted spawn.
Objectives: Score as many darts/balls/missiles/arrows, etc. in the other team's core as possible. Team with most points after time is called, wins. Darts are worth 1 point each, followed by, 5 points for balls/missiles/arrows, and 10 points for Titan missiles or equivalent.
Special rules: Darts/balls/missiles, etc. must be shot out of a blaster (i.e. You can't run up to the core and throw a bag of ammo in there).
Lovely paint drawing:
