For all of you who voted "switch" does that mean that you hold a gun in each hand sometimes, or maybe a pistol in your lef hand sometimes; or does that mean that when the urge strikes you, you'll lay flat, SM5K or X-bow in hands and put the but against your left shoulder, and fire it with your left hand?

I prefer two guns. One in each hand. I don't know about integrations, they might be really fun for me, but I like the feeling of a nerf gun in each hand.

I voted righty, because that is the hand I use with just one gun.

I might want to try nerfing lefty. I think I'd be able to pump alot faster with my right hand. I've had practice.

Nice one.

I voted righty just because my left arm might as well be chopped off at the wrist.

I voted righty, even though I pump best with my right hand, I have little coordination in my left, I just switch hands when I'm ready to shoot.

Untill recnently I have only ever held my guns in my right hand, But after reading this topic I disided(sp) to try my left hand and it worked as well as my right hand with the added advantage that I could steddy the barrel better. With semi-autos it hurt my ROF, I put switch.

With my AT3K and BF, I use my left hand, with my twin NFs, I use both hands. I can use any of my guns right-handed, but I prefer lefty.

Go Lefties! I too am a lefty, but it surprises me that sometimes I find myself shooting with my right hand, and it feels normal. I don't know. I voted lefty, but I guess I'm a bit ambidextrous.

That's pretty similar to me. I voted switch. I'm a righty, but I can shoot with my left hand quite naturally, but it all depends on the surroundings (walls, shrubs, etc.). So ambidextrous people might rule in nerf. I know it helps a bit in paintball, but these to sports (paintball and nerf) don't compare at all.

I did a check on my dominant eye, and it turns out that my dominant eye is (obviously) my left. Even though I normally shoot a (real) gun with my left hand, I found that I shoot my sm1500 with my right. Probably because of the whole pump thing. Because I added a scope(for aiming, not for zooming) to my sm1500, I'm training myself to shoot with my left since my left eye is my dominant. It's not TOO weird...but it'll take me a few days to adjust to comfortable.

To find your dominant: Make a big "O" with your hands and look at someone's face through it. Ask that person which eye you are using. That is your dominant eye.

left handed people still have some form of dominance in their right hand, so they often get confused on which one feels natural. I am also left handed, and I can't figure out which foot to lead with when I run. Also, on a whiteboard my right-hand writing looks better than my left. However, on paper, I can't write with my righthand as well because the muscles aren't as strong.

Also, with a fork or spoon, I normally eat iwth my left hand. However, with chop sticks, I only use the left hand.

Yeah, other than genetic disposition, the main thing that influences your handed-ness is the way you were taught. Especially for those who are more ambiguously dexterous. ;) You aim a gun down your arm, so it isn't only important what hand you're more comfortable with, but what eye. If you are confused about which is your dominant eye, focus on a small object in front of you and frame it with your hands. Extend your arms as far as they go and make a box just large enough for the object to be visible inside. Close one eye and then the other... the object should move behind your hands. Whichever eye is open when the object stays in the frame, that is your dominant eye and you should be holding your gun with that hand.

At least, that's the way this drunk guy at a party explained to me as he granted me the Duck Hunt light zapper. ;)

I usually use my right hand, but as far as shooting goes, I'm rather ambidextrous. If I go akimbo with pistols (rarely now, I need to mod my other LnL so they match), my left is just as effective as my right. If I need to bank a shot to my left, I'm usually decent. But, predominantly I am right.

I voted righty because I use that hand for most of my guns. I only use my left hand for my Tek Six because of its odd way of cocking and also because it adds a bit more to my RoF.

I find it a bit odd that there are more who can use both of their hands than there are that can use just their left. Actual statistics suggest that some people may just want to sound cool, and say "im t3h 1337 @mb1d3><735". Guess what, you suck.

*Shakes her head* I'm sure most of y'all here have had plenty of pratice...

I'm right handed, so I shoot with my right hand. Maybe both hands to aim better, James Bond method, perhaps? Don't really know what that means so...

Well I usually use my right hand but lately I have been trying dual pistols and have been working on my hand-eye coordination with my left hand.

Ambidexterous, I guess.

I'm having trouble with this thread. When you shoot, you should be holding the gun with two hands, unless you're using a pistol or going akimbo. Most people here have a primary, and assuming that you're using one of the popular primaries (X-bow, BBB, AT3K, MaxShot, etc) then you should be using both hands regardless (at least most of the time).

Two points of contact on any gun will steady your aim significantly compared to only one. I guess you mean what hand do you use to pull the trigger? Most people use the hand they write with, but I know several people who write right handed but shoot left handed (I regularly go skiit shooting and target shooting). Finding your dominant eye also helps too...

I've been practicing shooting lefty around corners, because I'm usually a righty. I've been trying to shooting plastic cups in my hallways from around corners, and its been challenging because my dominant eye is usually my right one.
