Well the time has come to begin planning this year's largest west coast war so here goes.

Date: July 2nd

Time: 9:30 am to 4:30-5ish pm

Where:
Cullen Elementary School
440 N. Live Oak Ave
Glendora, CA 91741

Ole Hammer Park
440 Right Next Door Blvd.
Glendora, CA 91741

Sellers Elementary School
500 N Loraine Ave.
Glendora, CA‎ 91741

The standard SoCal rules apply for eye protection and banned blasters
what that means is eye protection is Required for all players, even those over 18. if you are spotted without eye protection I will make you go and get some or you can sit out for the round.
also the following are not allowed on the playing field pending my approval: Blasters painted black, singled titans or 5ks, homemade airguns, pump replaced 4bs, other homemades excluding plusbows, snaps, or Ryan#'s homemades (pacs, rainbows, aabows, etc.). If you are not sure about your blaster ask here, or pm me. If your blaster is painted black it will be covered with bright marking tape. Also if I feel that a blaster is shooting too hard I may ask you to play with something else so bring backup blasters.

Housing is also something we local guys usually don't mind doing so if you are coming from out of town and need a place to stay speak up about it here or book a hotel room.

Many questions have been asked about blasters and darts. Here is your answer.

If your blaster is not on the ban list and has been allowed at wars with no special rules then bring it pending approval.

If your blaster is not on the ban list and has been banned and other wars don't bring it.

If your blaster is sketchy about safe performance you may bring for approval, but bring a blaster that is within safe standards for back-up.

Legal dart options include:
glue domes, slugs, and (pending) silicone heads

No "sub-optimal" or "super" domes

No exposed metal

Any questions post here or pm me.

Well, the 2nd or 9th would be best for me (especially since that's right around my birthday, and my mom will be more willing to drive me).

Any July date other than the 2nd works fine for me. Would need a place to crash though.

Edit: ANY July dates would work for me. The 2nd is my birthday and I can't think of a better way to spend it than at 'geddon.

Also any SNAP built with a pipe-ring catch is still considered a SNAP correct?

July 2nd works for me as it's between my two summer sessions of organic chemistry. Otherwise if majority rules, I can try the ninth. Rawray7's younger brother, Paul, and I might make a reappearance since our last armageddon, (2004 or 2005 can't remember haha) I just talked to him about it and he liked the idea.

The only dates I can make with certainty are the 2nd and 9th of July. I'm booked for the rest.

I can do either all the dates or none of them; I might be doing medical physics research over the summer, or might be doing applied math research over the summer, or might not do anything over the summer. In the latter case I will be able to make all these dates.

Planning on making the pilgrimage from Utah again, possibly with +2 people. Still figuring out what will work for the other 2, but I'm liking June 25, and July 23.(my +1 likes June 23) I get every other Friday off, and I'll be able to avoid missing work, and using vacation days. July 9 is a family reunion, and the only weekend we can't come. If needed I can work with the other 2 options.

Are the pistol splat variations still acceptable?

Any of those dates work for me. I'll be there + 1 or 2. Other than the standard rules, are we going with the brand new SoCal rules? Cause my experience is that the NEW rules suck, and don't seem like they'll work with a large ampunt of people. Anyway, thanks for planning this!

Everyone else enjoys the "classic" rules. They aren't really new either, SoCal used to play with gun blocking and different ammo types before I even started. I really don't see why it would be a problem to implement them in a large scale, either.

Could somebody explain/go over the basic rules again, assuming I do attend this. I haven't been to one of these in a while and am not sure if the rules are the same as when I last played? Gun hits counted when I last played unless it was a manta ray or something integrated with a manta ray shield. Thanks

All in due time, don't worry.

If you haven't noticed we still don't have a set location (or date). We're testing out a new site for the war next month, then we'll choose a location and give the thread a major update. We just wanted to get an opinion about when people wanted it to happen.

So, we'll update the thread later next month with games lists, what you need to bring, and much more specific rules.

I say this because the last war I was at, we had some weird rules where we could use stampede shields on any gun, and it really wasn't very fun. And I was the only one with a shield. But I'm willing to het over that to have fun.

Would the RPMBNB count as a SNAP in this listing? Just about any date is good for me and whoever on my group wants to attend.

Haha, I'd have to see about that, I wasn't even sure Paul was going to be up for it, but once summer rolls around for me, I'll see what I can do. I'm not even sure if Paul and I will make it(not sure of his schedule yet, and depending on the date I will/will not be in summer school) but we'll try!

If two powerful is a problem then just go with one powerful. I guess this style of hopper will work even beyond three powerful..

FB poll? Isn't NerfHaven set up to do polls (a place all ready frequented by many hoping to attend) Do I need to search out the FB poll referenced to cast a vote against the 9th (obligatory family reunion), or are results from both considered?

I do of course realize that no date chosen will agree with everybody. If it does end up being the 9th, well have fun storming the castle!

Regardless, a date would be helpfull to get travel plans settled.

Oh - last year I stayed at "Glendora Inns and Suites" (along with a few other nerfer). He asked us about the toy guns, and I told him we were there for an annual convention. He seemed interested in the influx of business, and seemed interested in offering a discount to participants of this years event as an incentive to come back. - If we advertised his business online. I haven't spoken with him since last year, and who knows if he'll remember anyway. This years event is likely to be in a different zip code, but hey the rooms were nice, and so was the price so, just throwing the option out there.

@Shmmee the Facebook stuff is for the bulk of the local guys who don't have/pay attention to Nerfhaven, I was just throwing in that info since I kinda still manage that crap, and because this thread was in need of a good bump.

After looking over everything in the thread (and Facebook), the date with the most opposition is the 9th. Anyone who said that they could do whatever, I put a tally down for all the dates, and anyone who wanted a specific date I put a tally down for that.

June 25th: 5
July 2nd: 9
July 9th: 9
July 16th: 6
July 23rd: 5

I'm making a Secret Vice Presidential decision here, and saying it's gonna be on July 2nd. Seeing as how Avatar of Woe(Brian), shmmee, and a few others stated that they can not make the 9th, it would be better to base the date around those with a longer travel distance, rather than the locals who live within 10 minutes of the location.

We'll give the thread another update this weekend after our SCUN war PAVLOV, and make the final decision on the location(s).

Dude, you're President, and Apollo is Secret President.

After what we experienced @ PAVLOV I'm pretty sure we're not using that park for a the 'geddon, and it sounds like we're leaning towards Cullen/Ole Hammer (which I checked, and it's playground is open now, so we should be good) I guess we're just waiting on Chris to add in the official set date.
