Do we have audio ads on here now? For the longest time I thought this site was Ad-free. Even while typing this an ad came up. Am I the only one getting these?

I recieved an audio ad while typing as well. I have no idea why though, it has never done that before.

I have contacted VACC concerning this matter. I noticed it early this morning. He is going to look into it. I scanned my computer after it occurred and it only seems to be from the site and it didn't infect my system with anything. Still, better to be safe than sorry, so you might want to scan your own systems for any viruses, spyware, or adware, just to be safe.
If you listen to some of the ads, some are TV commercials (Neutrogena and Listerine ad), some are broken into two parts (Goodyear ad that I heard this morning), and one is from either a popup or banner ad (Clear Internet Services) as it tells you to click to learn more.

If you run Firefox, I suggest adding the AdBlock Plus plug-in.

Still cxwq as far as I know. VACC or Talio would have made an announcement if ownership of the site had changed hands.
It isn't exactly something that adware can block. I am using Trend Micro and it has blocked everything anyone could ever encounter and it can't stop this oddity. I am also running Chrome.

I found a temporary fix.
Go to your audio settings, and disable the sound to your internet explorer. Then use another internet window (firefox in my world) for anything where you need the audio

Haven't experienced this yet, though I do seem to get an extra item loading on pages where I'd not noticed it before. That could just be paranoia, though.
Regardless, until we recreate and eliminate the problem I'd recomend makeing sure your virus protection is up to date (no shit).

I am working to fix the problem. The post from landstricker was the only one out of the last three which was in any way helpful or warranted. I deal with enough hysterical/all caps/"clever" bug reports when I'm getting paid for this, and since I technically have the ability to erase you from existence on nerfhaven, you'd do well not to be an excitable fuckwit about it.

Just had more ads...... they told me to buy a new Caddy, then some little girls started talking to me....... I don't know what I want, little girls or the Cadillac.... Also, I have noticed that for me they happen a minute or so after getting onto a new page, not instantaneously.

If your ad blocking software has a feature for blocking a specific domain or site, or if you know how to muck around with the host file for your browser, you can block http://megaswf.com/ as that is where the advertisements are coming from.
Adblock Plus seems to work fine on it's own as well. http://adblockplus.org/en/

I've been on NH for about a half an hour, no ads so far. I blocked Megaswf.com, no more problems at the moment for me.

Yeah that Megaswf site popped up for me too when I tried to go on here an hour ago, and it would not let me on this site. I wonder if that was an add or a part of cxwq's upgrade of the IPB, or if it was some strange mexican popup ( it was in spainish for me). Anyways though, other than that no adds have spoken to me through my computer yet.
