Would it be possible to compile a list of inactive users, one that covers people who had large amounts of posts that are no longer active in the NIC? Hopefully it would help deter people from sending PMs in vain, creating "Where the eat shit did they go!?" threads, and the like.

Also, they deserve lots of respect if they were contributors and it would be nice to just have their names up.
People like ShortShit, 3DBBQ, Ompa, and The Infinite Shindig shouldn't go unnoticed. Boltsniper had a little comeback to the site, and a year back ShortShit and 3DBBQ also visited. These people, whether or not they themselves notice, should be recognized.

also i love you sooth rest in peace bud <3 ;)

Doing this as I speak. I have no idea when I got it...my DAD got it some 15 years ago, but that doesn't matter. Anyways, it keeps jerking around all over the place. I try to hold it with a rag...It doesn't look like...much.

I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

Did Soothsayer die?

Seconded. I know this was a NIC meme a while back, but you don't sound like you're joking...

There was a thread a while back where he told everyone that he didn't die, but maybe he got sick again or something. I know that he was using prescription drugs pretty heavily. He also hasn't been on NerfHaven since November, 2010, which is surprising because he was a pretty active member.

Yeah what about some of the moderators like One Man Clan, Piney, Death, Spoon, and Groove. Can we please make a list so I know for sure someone is gone? Because looking at the last time they posted just doesn't tell the whole story.

I agree with this idea, not that my yes holds a lot as far as who holds a lot of weight when deciding, per se. I may have a low post count but I only registered way back when to ask questions or give my 2 cents when I feel like I'm not going to get the ban hammer ( which is very rarely, ergo the low post count) anyways forgive me for drifting off-topic.
I agree with the idea because of what people have previously stated, respect among our community and plus if we have a list, it gives people easier access to oh how do I put it...easier accesss to a specific inactive's homemades. Plus yes if someone does pass, it gives us a quicker way of knowing rather than having to rifle through posts and sift through profile info, and e-mail and w.e. else NIC members and IRL buds of the person in question use to find their info on a person. I don't need to say this, but I will anyways...this board has been around for closer to a decade now, we have shiploads of posts, I don't think anyone, even if a prominent member of our community has passed, would be willing to rifle through the thousands, hell maybe even millions of replies to threads. Fuck if anyone would be willing, for their sake I hope they have an MIT-level knowledge for writing a program that way they can just narrow it down to posts pertaining to the person who we presume has passed away. Anyways I believe I'm rambling now, again forgive me, it's 2:30 AM here in Vegas, I'll shutup how. As previously stated just wanted to give my 2 cents on the idea, night folks, happy nerfing, modding, and crafting! :P

Don't let anyone fool you, nerf isn't a game, it's nor a religion, so what is it you may ask, it is a way of life. Once a nerfer, always a nerfer, once a NIC member, always a NIC member. It's viral, just like a ton of youtube videos. -fgclan

Ugh. You don't need an MIT-level script to use the search engine. Is that really what you kids think?

Edit: Response to below, since the kid clearly does NOT understand this.
To find the last time someone posted, click Search in the top right. Type in the user's name in the "Filter by Member Name" box. Under "Result Type" click "Show results as posts". It will show the first 1000 of that user's posts, from most recent to least. The top post is their last post. Does exactly what you're saying, without any script, let alone whatever misconceptions you have about college being true. (Seriously, look at this. They're common, and easy to make.)

Even quicker, if you're just looking for all posts by a user, click their name to see their profile, click "Profile options" then "Show user's posts."

No it's not what I think but when you're writing a program specifically for the purpose of narrowing down posts like I previously mentioned, a custom-written program that runs on your computer for that purpose only, yeah I would think you would need an MIT level knowledge to make the program.

Under their profile is a "last active" date. But still, I think we really could use a thread like this.
