As we all know, MN Nerf has been down the tubes lately. Koree left, Beaver left, and almost everyone got busy. BUT, I think we can bring it all back to life. We'll be stuck in this shitty weather for a while, why not have a heated mod party in the mean time? If we're feeling adventurous we could go to a nearby park and shoot around. I've hosted many of these in the past which BustaNinja, Beaver, Atomatron, and Stark attended. They were always a great time, so I figured I should open up my doors to all the Minnesotans. The low-down:

-Where: My House (in Apple Valley), I'll provide the exact address and other info in private.
-When: February 26th
-Time: 1:00 PM until whenever I kick everyone out.
-Why: Modding with other modders is the best! I have a great deal of tools, space, materials, and food. Why not?

Attendee Checklist:
-Blasters
-Money
-Tools
-Glue
-Parts
-Safety Gear (goggles, gloves, respirators)
-Foldable Chairs/Tables
-Electric Heaters
-Water/Food if you don't like what I have or don't want to buy anything.

Let me know what you all think. I know Apple Valley is a bit out of the way for most of you, it is well worth the drive. I should be able to make a large McMaster order for everyone who needs supplies, as long as you pay of course. There's an Ace, Home Depot, Menards, Walmart, Target, TRU, K-Mart, and many Fast Food within a few miles of my house.

Facebook sounds good for organizing, yeah. I'll try and get these new guys' info so they know what's happening there. Julian is interested so definitely talk to him if you need transportation. Also, remind me to give you your watch.

I have several bags worth of blasters and parts I'm looking to dump on all of you for very cheap to possibly free costs. Bring your quarters and dollars!

Sounds like fun, I've got a boatload of thrift store fireflys I've wanted to do something with.

I can't think of anything I know I would want from mcmaster, I'll bring some tools and supplies though.

Man, I'd really like, to, this'd be great for me. I have a basketball game on the 25th, so I'm not sure if I'd be able to make it right on time that day. I probably wouldn't be able to stay for the entire time, either. I'll try to be there, though!!

It seems like the 26th works better. How does starting at 3:00 sound for everyone? It'll probably take an hour or so for everyone to show up and get organized, then we'll know where we need to go during the dinner break.

I think we should start earlier so that if people, like me, have to leave early they can still get a good amount of time in. I was thinking more like 1:00-2:00 range.

I might be doing a trivia thing that day, but we don't know what time it's starting at yet. If it ends up starting in the evening/late afternoon I will probably skip it, but if it's early afternoon/morning I might be a little late.

Either way I'm down for some mod party action.

We could start at 1:00, sure. I suppose it's better to end earlier if possible. Most of the mod parties I had before went really late/early, but many of those were during the summer. So is 1:00 until (???) good for everyone?

We probably will be in my garage, actually. My basement isn't really big enough to fit more than just a few people. Most of my tools are in my garage, also. I have a number of heaters though, so it should be decently warm.

No, I do not. I was tempted to buy one at Savers for $100 a week ago, but I don't think I'd even use it enough to make it worthwhile. Here are the power tools I have: Scrollsaw, Bench Grinder, Mitre Saw, several nice hand drills, dremel, POSSIBLY a drill press (I'm working out procuring one, I may have it in time for this). In addition, I have an excessive amount of basic tools (screwdrivers, taps, drill bits, wrenches, etc) and more parts/blasters than I can keep track of. I got you guys all set.

Make sure you get around to your local thrift stores first. It can be fruitless, but I think everyone in MN has found some nice older blasters at various stores.

Oh wow, I had no idea you lived in the metro. It's a shame that you don't have transportation. The bus is always an option. My sister who goes to the U is a major advocate of taking the bus. Within a few miles of my house there's a big transit station that most buses from Minneapolis should make a stop at. I could come get you from there.

Awww hellz yah! I figured that this sausage fest wouldn't be kicking off till sometime in the evening, which would interfere with Saturday night shenanigans. But if this is gonna start some time in the afternoon, then it looks like I'll have time for both! Barring Effeminate shitstorm, I do believe you may count me in.

And on that note, some nylon plunger rod would be fabulous what with my acrylic rainbow plunger rod having snapped in half . . .

Stark: I'm for sure getting some nylon rod, I have several homemades needing it and I'm sure you and others will need it.

Is there anything else people need but haven't told me yet? I'm going to make the order in about a week or less. Also, there's a great deal on eBay, 25 1/4" thick 12" by 12" polycarb sheets for about $175 shipped. So that'd be $7 per sheet, really good deal. If you guys chip in enough (at least $100 or so), I'd buy it. Pretty much all of the polycarb we would ever need for a super good price.
