MARCH TO GLORY: PITTSBURGH NERF SEASON OPENER

Description: Yeah, Pittsburgh nerfing kind of died out over the school year or offseason this time for some reason. But we want to change that. So grab your gear, come to our war, have some fun, and MARCH TO GLORY!! (Read that like you're a sparten Gerard Butler...no I'm not taking myself that seriously.) Remember, ALL ARE WELCOME, the more the better, although quality is good too.

Meeting/Staging Areas: TBA
Restrooms: PortaJons are available at all possible locations.
Hydration: Bring water/Gatorade etc. for yourself with your lunch.
Food: Bring a bag lunch/dinner for the middle of playtime. Go out for food at your own risk of missing a round(s). Hosts can refer you to nearby restaurants.
Sun Protection: Probably won't need it this early
Umbrella/Rain Jacket: Probably a better idea.
Eye Protection: Bring it, seeing as its necessary for those under 18 and recommended for all in my book.
Contacts: If needed, Pm or PM and ask for a phone number to speak to me.
Guntypes to bring: Your primary, secondary, a pistol, a pistol for gunslinger, and some foam melee in case we mess around with them.
Guns that may be banned: (as usual) Air guns meant to fire anything but micro darts with their pumps plugged and RFSGs modded really well. However, everything’s on a case-by-case basis pending modifications. You know how we roll, we really don't care that much at all to exclude much.
Gametypes that may be played/attempted: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Gunslinger Heaven, Swashbuckler Heaven.
Rules: Standard rules for Deathmatch and CTF as listed in Nerf War Etiquette (See the link on the Useful Stuff page if you haven’t yet.). All other gametype rules will be explained prior to the round. If you repeatedly break any of these rules, you’ll be asked to sit out a round. If you continue to after this initial action, you’ll be asked to leave if possible. If you continue to act immature about the request, you won’t be allowed back.

I might need to borrow darts from someone, doesn't matter if they fit my barrels or not. I don't have the supplies, time or motivation to make any of my own for this war.

Pardon the double post, but here's some updates to attendance.

I will have myself, plus 4 others.

I am also expecting anywhere from 1-4 new players from the area. Be ready for some sucky players guys, but we need to get them to join in.

I fixed my 2k, now it makes a sound comprable to a small anti-aircraft gun. So if anyone is gonna be doing any scareing it's me you mother fuckers.

Pros:

Finally nerfing after 4 months of inactivity.
Doing pretty well, even after that time off.
Didn't have any blasters fail, apart from general speed-bumps
Darts kinda lasted all day
Using the Ultimator in loser combat (I typed loser, because it's shorter than letting the filter change it...)
Not carrying every blaster I own to the park
Getting the Max Shot and soon-to-be Four-Play
Pretty sure we made a nerfer out of Andrew
Ok-ish weather. A little chilly, but c'mon, It's MARCH in PITTSBURGH, wer're lucky it didn't rain, then snow, then rain while snowing.

Chinese buffet was a great time as always.

I thought the assault round was pretty of fun.


Cons:
I hit like 3 head shots
My baby is out of commission until further notice (Bring her back to life Prince)
Kept losing my phone and leatherman (Thanks again JWasko)
Traffic mayhem!
Those not in attendance



P.S. for any of you pussies out there who insist on slugs....
50% or more of our attendance used my darts, which were almost all weighted with 1/4" slingshot weights. Anyone guess how many people suffered death or other debilitating injuries? The same number of testicles any of you have, which is 0. I'm done here.

At first, the assault round was pretty homosexual because it just involved the attacking team making a plan, getting killed almost immediately, and going all the way back to respawn repeatedly. This included what was to be our "final" attempt with 6min left.

After that failed and there were two minutes left, we were pretty much like "no, this isn't over yet," winged it, and somehow got the Ultimator (thanks to JM diving over the railing and not killing himself in the process)

And major props to Dom for accidentally (?) stopping the timer, allowing us to go for the crate anyway, and then being inordinately courteous and not shooting me because I might be out already.

In the future, though, I suggest that there be more attackers/fewer defenders.


Only real con is that the catch on JM's nitefinder isn't sturdy enough, and Flamincows&GF not being there. At least 'Cows avoided Steve Irwin's fate.



Anyway, good to see everyone after so long.

I had a blast,

Pros
None of the blasters I care about broke.
Even though we got there late I did awesome the first round.
Not getting muddy (at least until JM did a dance in the mud puddle beside me and splashed mud all over me).
Confirming my thoughts that hoppered big blasts are kinda gay.
Not running out opf darts.
Nerf guns.
Chinese food
Putting together the Maximizer (after the war)

Cons
Drinking too much root beer the night before.
Sub-par dart sweeping.
Shooting everyone in the head at least once.
Getting lost in Pittsburgh both on the way to and leaving the war.
John having so much sand in his vagina from virginia that he couldn't come to the war.
Not as much nerfing as I would have liked.

All in all a totally awesome season opener. I can't wait to nerf again?
