Im looking into 3 round burst fire by relocating the T piece, and making 3 and 4 barreled rscb's for shotgun style uses. An automatic nerf shotgun would be pretty fun wouldn't it? (although you would go through darts extremely fast)

WOW! I am actually working on a very similar type of thing now. I have put the Mirage 2.0 on hold (due to annoyingly bad shipping, which resulted in smashed brass), and have begun work on a semi automatic scatter cannon based on the Mirage-ss!

I really look forwards to seeing your build now. I always figured a fun challenge would be simply to try and fling as much foam as possible towards the opponent, I imagine some sort of massive wall of foam

If you try to shoot over 45 feet with a magstrike accurately you fail

I beg to differ

Could you achieve similar results by attaching an rscb or a hopper clip to a previously automatic blaster, such as a magstrike or powerclip?

Not in general. Unless you expand the piston by a lot the volume of those valves output is not enough for decent ranges out of a hopper, and an RSCB would defeat the "automatic" aspect of those blasters. If the tank was enlarged by quite a bit however, a hopper would be a viable option (I once wanted to try this, but do not have access to wye's in Beijing).

Also magstrikes do not send out a constant air stream, it is a piston, basically you can think of it as an automatic springer that is actuated by air. That is why it has a bladder to give it the pressure for the piston to prime and then return by spring.

You may be right but I believe he is hooking it not to the piston, but to the trigger valve of the magstrike. But still, I'm not quite sure how this differentiates from an inline clip.

It doesn't differ from an inline clip. It is a over-done version of an inline clip. If you just put a coupler on the springer's air exhaust and the attatch an inline clip off of that, it becomes semi-manual, just saving you reload time, not reprime time. If you coupler it onto a static tank (a non-bladder hard tank, like paintball or oxygen tank) you get the same effect, semi-manual. If it is attatched to a bladder gun, then it becomes automatic, but is a lot less air efficient than the original automatic styling. Any RSCB can become automatic if you're shooting down at someone.
