I'm just finishing up working on my BBB, thanks for all the help with the pictures here. Nothing new here, I eliminated the orange tip completely and used a piece of 1" slipxslip pvc and a 1"x 1/2" reducer to a 1/2" pipe.

We shoot indoors in a small area and my buddies already banned the use of my longshot and of course the doomsayer so usually I use my longstrike. I'll try to look for the pictures where I tore them apart, the longshot has a lot of beefed up internals that are somewhat unique.

My main question is that I'm looking for a mod to enable the bbb to shoot a clipped version of unmodified sonic darts (we are looking to level the playing field and have everyone use the same darts). The big problem I'm encountering is that 1/2" pvc is a bit big and too much air is lost. 1/2" copper is too small, and PETG is way to small. So I have two questions:

1. Is there a material that you have used that fits sonic darts? I'm thinking of spray painting the inside of the 1/2" pvc to raise it a mm or so and get a tighter fit.
2. Is there any material that fits tightly over 1/2" pvc so I can make a breach using standard pvc?

Thank you for your help.

If you all just used streamline darts, you could just do a clip mod that's already been done, it'll perform better, and you could always use stefan's when you feel like playing with the big boys. Streamlines are the cheapest anyways, stuff a BB gun BB in the tip of each dart and you got darts that will perform better than any sonic darts.

And as for your spray paint idea, it's not going to work. Spray paint, once dried is so incredibly thin, you wouldn't even be able to measure the thickness until you've laid down about 100 coats.

Thanks, I definitely agree on that, streamlines shoot really straight out of the bbb and I guess I'll have to go with that until I can figure out a way to decrease the diameter of the pvc. I might be able to dip it into some paint and hang dry it or something.

You miight be able to get a breech going with some PETG as the movable part, nested inside the PVC to improve airseal. And the PETG only fits up until the head. I am guessing this is what the new Dart Tag guns will also use... basically a shorter version of the normal clip breech.
Another thing you could do is stick some cellophane inside to fix the barrel diameter. AKA wrapping paper, the plastic kind.

You want these Snap-Fix PVC pieces for a 1/2" breech. They also come in 1/2" CPVC for CPVC breeches.

For a single barreled BBB, go with a telescoping PETG barrel or something. I find that 1" of 17/32" brass nested in about 2.5" of PETG gets good performance, then nest that thing in about 5" of 1/2" PVC. Or just make a turret. Here.

Travel Cost to TRU = $2. Eliminator pack = $15. Momentum testing = 2 lost darts. Outranging Recons with your mini pistol = priceless.

Well, considering you only have the pvc...you could try getting some thinwall petg. I am not sure if the sonics will fit inside that, but it's worth a try. Another thing you could do is make an inline clip. I can't think of anything else. If none of the above will work, you will have to stick with streamlines buddy.

Thinwall 1/2'' PVC can be used to carry sonic darts no problem. I've seen both inlines and RSCBs use it to hold the darts. And from my experience 1/2'' PVC from Lowes and Menards can be used as a good barrel material for sonic darts, at least in DeKalb anyway.

1/2 inch thinwall PVC is not that easy to find.

When I was new to moding all i had were sonics. when i went in to find a new barreling material at home depot I found a strange black plastic like pipe that came in short segments. it fit the head of sonic darts perfectly.

It is kinda hard to attach but it fits good in 3/4 inch pvc.

I once heard Just Some Bob mention that he thickened the ID of a barrel using repeated coats of floor wax. (though I haven't tried it)

1/2 inch thinwall PVC isn't really that hard to find. I get mine at my local Lowe's.
Also, Kane made a hopper clip for taggers, but it should work with sonics. Link

My dad works at Homedepot and I don't get access to other hardware stores

Homedepot doesn't carry specific sizes of pipes.

Then either tell them they don't have what you need, your going to a competetor, or use an Inline clip.

There is no reason you shouldn't be able to go to lowes, this is a capitalistic system.

First off for the bbb mod, http://nerfhaven.com...topic=19619&hl= as for the barreal try SCHEDULE 80 PVC. It's grey, hint. FYI, you should search these things (I'm talking mainly about the bbb mod) before you post. I'm not complaining too much because I do it a lot to. But nice mods! :D

Thanks alot guys, and Yes I did do a extensive search on all the BBB mods. My question was whether they could shoot sonics in a clip, not streamlines. The clipped versions with streamlines are pretty badass and I guess I'll have to go with that.

Right now I'm leaning towards a rscb to keep it streamlined. Either that or I'll go with the snap-fix pvc, funny I was just looking at that yesterday at home depot and was wondering if it would work on a breech.

My sonic darts personally actually fit very well in 21/32 brass, what I would do for a breech that could be used with a clip would have 17/32 brass push them into a half inch of 20/32 (not 5/8 at my hardware store which is very odd) so that the darts will sleeve inside of the 17/32. Since 20/32 is a springer fit in my area on the dart heads and there is only about a half inch that would be on there the BBB would still be able to easily shoot the dart, then then dart would follow down the perfect fit of the 20/32 brass and shoot out the barrel.

I use a 1/2" PVC barrel (am fairly sure I got it at lowes) and I use it on my hand cannon in hvz to vacuum load sonics, taggers, and buzz bee darts. (It seems only the older buzz bee darts fit, the newer ones are a little thicker). Just go to the store with a sonic in your pocket and check the fit, that way you don't waste your money if it is the wrong size.

Regardless of what you do, if you stick sonics in a pure 1/2" PVC barrel, it won't be optimal in a springer. You lose a lot of air, and it'll be pretty loud.

If you can make a PETG breech that fits the tail end of the dart, you'll get some better seal. And it obviously doesn't fit the head.

SCH 80 PVC varies greatly. I've found some that is small enough to use streamlines with relative success, and some that lets you push PETG through it. I doubt there is anything smaller than SCH 40 PVC that works with sonics.

Also, I have never gotten a BBB with stock spring to get good performance with an RSCB. If it's spring modded, maybe. But if you stick a nail or some other dart stop in the coupler, you can use an inline clip with streamlines. Take off the stock and it's still manageable in length.

Clear PVC pipe usually is a bit tighter on the ID than regular. I've used 1/2" clear pvc to get a springer fit with taggers in an RSCB. Presumably sonics would work the same.
