I came across one of these at the Walmart in Lewis Center, OH back around New Year's, and finally got around to modding it today. It was only $8, so I figured why not try it.

After a frustrating day of HW, I need a break, and this is the result.


In stock form. The new Buzz Bee water guns are following the Ultimate trend of "stack all your blasters together", thus the extra appendages.


The Rebel is relatively small, with a fill cap on the side. The pump underneath pressurizes the water tank (thus you have to keep the cap on), and has an OP valve in the head. The tank, outlet valve piece, and pump assembly are all separate, with tight o-rings keeping the seal and white half-circle pieces screwed down to keep things in place.


A hose lets water into the nozzle, essentially a miniaturized version of the Ultimate Missile Blast, with the trigger linked to a lever, which in turn pulls the pin. You'll need to cut off the hose; there's no real reason to keep it.


The nozzle on the front can be removed, and the passage airflow modded, similar to a 2K tank.


Put everything back in place, and notice that a CPVC coupler fits perfectly onto the remainder of the orange plastic piece.


This was me experimenting without thinking. It takes ~50 pumps for full pressure, which means either a pump replacement or tank shrinkage is necessary. Since we can all replace pumps, I'm electing to attempt tank shrinkage for the purposes of this mod. The first attempt was stuffing craft foam in there. No real effect, obviously. (Question to self: why would you use something you can compress easily????) Right now, I have a giant blob of goop sitting in there. I'll let that cure, and do some more real tests later to see what effects tank shrinkage has (and to what degree).


With a ~1 foot barrel of 1/2" CPVC. At the 50 pumps for the OP valve to kick in, I was getting ~100ft. ranges consistently with 1/4" slingshot weighted stefans.

I'll have more tests up tomorrow or Monday, pending goop curing and school work.

This is similar to the Max-D Super Soaker series as well.
It would be incredibly overpowered if you used some optimal barrel setup. Say... taggers and 1.5 feet of 1/2" PVC? Or some PETG and micros. Over 100 feet with about 30 pumps, I'd guess.

Any size comparisions? The pump chamber looks about the same size as a nitefinder plunger tube.

Most water guns require at least 20 pumps for the dart to go anywhere major. Pressure chamber minimization might be interesting, but then it's a lot heavier. And I'm guessing it's still going to need a good number of pumps for power.

That stock pump looks terrible, I would replace it. Other than that, it looks great. I love new weird guns.

The stock pump is easy to pump, at least. But it can stand to be replaced. And if I'm gonna turn this into a 4B replacement, that'll have to happen anyhow (BrokenSVT nod there). But I'll see how much I can get by for as cheap as possible.

The goop I stuck in is set enough to shoot off a couple rounds. It only takes 40 pumps now, with no noticeable range dropoff. At 20 pumps, it does 70 feet.

I have to question the practicality of something where you need 20+ full pump strokes just to get a single shot off.

Jerm modified the Deluge and got 70ft. ranges. I don't see why that couldn't work here.

I had not seen the Deluge mod; that seems to be a much more practical solution for this thing. I'll look into doing that. Although I'll need to grab some plastic cement.

Dizzy: Did we really expect the pump on this to be incredible? I think it's safe to say it needs to go; I'm just keeping track of the # of pumps for documentation's sake.

Glad to see this has potential. I will have to pick one up and maybe add a dual action ball pump to help cut down on the pumping.

I just noticed that the same type of trigger device is used inside of the Buzz Bee Ultimate Blast, with probably the same size wire.

With some massive tank shrinkage that could be quite a fun little gun there. I love how it's not "Ultimate series green" too. With a much smaller tank it'd also leave plenty of room for integrating other stuff kinda like the Ultimate Missile Blast, which also has an extremely roomy shell.

I did a Storm 690E a while back. With about 1.5' of pvc, sonic darts and 50 pumps it hits around 60'. These types of setups are insanely accurate, and not very practical, because they're too slow for indooor wars, and if you're actively trying to "loser" someone in an outdoor war, someone else will tag you when your aiming. Nice job though, I just wish more people would have the balls to mod uncommonly modded guns.

I went to my local Walmart lookin for this, but they didnt have any out. Therefore, I bought the next size up, the Outlaw. I ended up almost sawing the orange cover off, then opening it up I did what you did, but nested a 1/2" PVC coupler over it, and was gettin 60' Ranges. I never pumped it until the tank was full though. Only to a maximum of 50 (once) and more commonly 30.

From what I could tell from seeing them at walmart the other day, any of them can attach to any of the others. You can even stack multiples of the same blaster together.

I added a dual-action bike pump I had handy, but kept the very end of the stock pump tube, which has a check valve. Not sure if that was really necessary, but it makes me feel better

The hard tank is made out of 1-1/2" PVC coupler, and bushings that reduce to 1/2". Good amounts of solvent weld, plus epoxy in a few places because I can.

As currently set up, 5 pumps gives the ranges I had previously, 6 pumps gives 4B-appropriate ranges, and 7 is where things start to get painful.
