edit: sorry i didn't mean to double post this. I thought something happened and the first one did not post but it did
hey guys

I came across a crossbow awhile back due to the condition it was in and i don't know how to fix it. I have tried several things but nothing has worked so I thought I would use the haven as a resource. The plunger head has broken off.
this problem is causing a minor decrease in range

Just replace the plunger tube and plunger head. Lots of people have done it, just search.

I do not know how I was able to do this without passing out from the difficulty.CLICK ME!

Also to replace the plunger, I would use a square bar of aluminum that is sized to the crossbow catch. Then get a [k26] and you will have a really nice Bow.

It's an injection attack against this version of IPB. We'll be down intermittently while I upgrade the site.

If I put ads on NerfHaven you'll know it. They'll be for drugs... and hookers... and duct tape.

Okay retards, stop suggesting aluminum for plunger rods! Aluminum is highly reactive to oxygen and forms a skin of aluminum oxide on any exposed surface. Aluminum oxide also happens to be the same base material for sapphire and ruby, and is used as the abrasive in high quality sand paper. Aluminum is a terrible material to use with any other plastic parts, because any plastic (or even other aluminum) it comes in to contact with will be worn down by the interaction. The best materials for plunger rods are simply nylon and acetal (delrin), and you shouldn't bother with most other materials, particularly not metals. If you haven't actually performed this kind of modification or repair job, then don't reply to these threads!

In addition to nylon and delrin, I also suggest 3/8" square Pvc rod. It can be found with a bit of searching at Mcmaster.com I cannot tell you about Delrin since I've never used it, but between Nylon and Pvc, they both hold up fine under the stress of a [k26] spring (also found at Mcmaster), but Pvc is $1.00/ft. as opposed to Nylon which is $~$4.50ish/foot. The only upside to nylon over Pvc is that Nylon flexes very minimally. Unless you have the proper tools, I'd buying homemade internals from a fellow NIC member.
