Nerf Dart Tag 16 on Ebay

Interesting, featuring a 16 dart built-in clip.
It's pretty much a Raider with a new look, and the built-in clip.

Is it just me, or does the Mag look like its been raised a bit?

When I zoom in on that pic, It looks like the magazine/clip is vertically oriented... and off center.
The nature of Dart tag blasters leads me to believe that you have to load each dart manually. Look up the Striker reloading sequece from Modern Warfare 2, you'll see what I mean.

It's a reshelled raider. It's off center because the raider internals are built for a side load clip.

(First post! Yay!) Check out http://urbantaggers....-16-we-got.html, it has an in depth review of the blaster. You load one dart in at a time into the clip (yes, it actually IS a clip, it cannot be removed). The operation is identical to a raider, but i love the new look. Hopefully this comes out before my birthday :D

It is still a magazine (simply an internal one), on a real gun you would use a clip to load it though.

That is very interesting in my opinion... its pretty much a raider though i'd like it if they had a new design. also the fact that its a clip but it says it accepts dart tag darts is sorta wierd.. hmm..

My Raider just dropped a few notches on the totem pole...
I absolutely love this new clip system- high ROF, we get taggers back, and you dont need to yank a clunky mag out of your blaster to reload (or, worse, haul a million of said clunky mags to keep reload times as low as possible). I'm 100% sure BOTH blasters are REVERSE PLUNGERS (big suprise), but I dont care. The Q16 is going to be the ultimate contender in indoor wars to date.

I think it looks great, the streamlined style with the curved mag is awesome. After messing around with a Deploy at a few wars I'd much rather carry a bag of loose darts then a bag of clips. I don't care much about taggers, but it sounds like this will take suction cup darts as well. Nothing says nerf to me more then shooting suction cup darts and having them stick to walls or whatever.

also the fact that its a clip but it says it accepts dart tag darts is sorta wierd.. hmm..

Haha, the entire point is that it's a dart tag gun.

Very smart of Nerf to swing back into the 'toy' direction with their merch, this is much more a blaster that shoots darts and not a gun that shoots bullets.

I am a bit suprised no one has innovated a home made clip/mag system like this, I'm wondering if you could somehow put this onto a modded LS and fix it to accept slugs.

The Difference:
-Guns shoot bullets that kill people
-Blasters shoot darts that tag people

I do not play with guns.

I got to agree with some of you on this one- the built-in clip is a real nice feature. One of the reasons I always liked turrets (or carousel-clips as I have always called them) is that you can reload them quickly without taking anything off the blaster: just stuff more rounds in.

As for why people haven't been building them- my guess is that the mechanical complexity is the primary issue. The offset clip is likely done so that you can top-load the clip without pushing darts through the chamber, so that reloading can be done regardless of the state of the chamber. (open or closed) If you look at the pictures, the breech is oriented sideways, as on a raider, but the clip is facing up/down. My best guess is that when you cycle the breech there is a piece which kicks the dart sideways into the breech. In effect, rather than pushing the darts off the top of the clip in a forwards direction, the darts get pushed off the top in a sideways direction. While I'm sure the mechanism is brilliantly simple and awesome like most nerf guns, it's probably a but tougher to build for someone without the ability to machine small parts.

I personally think the clip looks REALLY big on this gun. A little too big for my tastes. I am liking this now streamlined look though.

Does the location of the magazine interfere at all with priming the blaster? It looks to me like a right-handed user might have trouble with it bumping into his or her forearm.

I doubt it. It's location is exactly where the GIGANTIC 30 round raider drum sticks out on a normal raider. If you can comfortably use a raider I see no problem in the ergonomics of this.
