Alright. I wanted a little more range out of my 2k, and I would have to say that I achieved this even though I have not finished the barrels yet. This is just a tiny guide on how to expand your airtech 2000 tank.

Materials:
around 2-5 inches of 1 inch pvc (used for the tank expansion)
1 inch pvc endcap (used on the exterior part of the expansion)
3/4 inch pvc plug (used on the internal part of the expansion)
1/4 inch tubing
super glue
a red can of oatley "all purpose cement" (solvent weld)
airtech 2000 (of course)

Alternatively, you could use any air powered blaster and any size of pvc/cpvc for the tank expansion.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Take your 2k assembly out of the shell like so, and unscrew the screws for the goo gauge:
Then drain it like so:
Then work on getting the goo gauge plastic separated from the tank. I wiggled it back and forth and turned it some and it popped right out. This doesn't happen for me often, so you might have to cut it, then drill it out for the vinyl tubing to fit in.
Next, work on getting the tubing to squeeze in tightly. Once it is able to fit in, put some super glue on it and shove it in. Once that is done, put a good amount of the solvent weld around the seam. Don't hold back.
Now, I don't have pictures of this step, but it is pretty common sense. First sand your 3/4 inch pvc plug down about 1/16 of an inch so that if fits snug in the 1 inch pvc. Then drill out the center so that the tubing fits in snug and repeat what you did on the 2k tank. Then, mark where the pumps tubing will need to go in to the pvc part of the tank, and repeat what you just did for that. All pretty common sense. Please note that if you want to keep the black part of the shell on the gun, you will need to cut it out so the 1 inch pvc slides in. You will also need to remove the 2 screw ports. Here are a couple pictures to explain:
You are officially done. Here is what I ended up doing to mine (barrels not done yet):
Good luck, and happy modding.
Partially reminds me of when Coop had an idea of expanding an AT3K tank with the Goo Gauge.
Good job, about how many pumps does it take to completely fill the tanks?
It's just one tank, since it's just one shot, but it takes 20-25 with a plugged pump to get about the same pressure as a plugged 2k. Yes, it does do it a little like the goo gauge, but that was so little it didn't really increase range. Alternatively, you could make the tank much smaller, and fit inside. Just like how I will be doing to nerfmafia's 2k.
Oh god... Well I guess I have to be the douche bag to ask for ranges, but you can't expand the tank and not tell us what improvement it made. And I guess you said you barrels weren't done yet, does that mean you haven't test fired it yet?
No ranges yet. I guess that will get me flamed. Ah well. I can tell you that it feels like a 4b firing though with the amount of air it puts out. It is also pretty quick to release all the air, despite the small tubing.
I've seen and tried expansions like this. They don't add very much range (if any) because the air release isn't fast enough. Because the second tank is so far away and separated by that thin tube, the air can't get to the barrel fast enough to really do much. So you just made your tank take twice the amount of pumps to fill with very little range difference. Unless your modification involves witch magic or The Force :)
But I'd like to see ranges when you get your barrels done, just in case you're a wizard.
On the other hand, the guy who posted before me used the word 'fuck' a lot so he probably knows what he's talking about.
I think I'll try to get BrokenSVT to make me a turret for this. haha. I just can't get it to seal right when I try to do the whole rear loading thing.
So the way this expantion works, is that the "extra tank" is not directly connected to the 2k? I almost did this with a secret strike for experimentation.
If you look at the pictures, you can see a hose that would normally lead to the pump from the 2k tank. That hose goes into the expansion. I don't know what you mean by directly, but it is connected. BrokenSVT makes some pretty wicked SSPBs. They fire around 100ft with a mod very similar to this.
There's actually a funny story about that hair, and even though no one is going to believe me, it was growing out of my eyebrow. It was very weird. I just woke up one day and it was there. I thought it was just me shedding and it had fallen onto my eyebrow but it wouldn't come off. I actually had to pluck it.
You could probably compensate for the slower air delivery with longer barrels.
It's really not that slow. It's quite fast.
If anyone reading this has 1.5 feet lengths, or greater, of (preferably) thick wall PETG please let me know. I need at least 4 sections (for the barrels).
Hmm, I'd have to agree with Coop on this one, but there's also another thing... why even expand the tank in the first place? A properly modded 2k can easily hit over the century mark with no volume expansion in the tank...
I just felt like trying it. I expanded a 4b and it gave great results. Why not try it on a smaller tank?
