If the MN guys want this in a different thread then fine, I'll ask to get this closed. If not, then here goes:

January war planning. As of Jan 1 my work will be cut to 16 hours per week and I'll have plenty of free time. I can request any Saturday I want. My bro can, at this point, request any Saturday he wants. Your turn- say what dates you have open.

I am currently up for hosting (or co-hosting, anyone?) a war on the Saturday after New Years, Jan. 8. Probably in my neighborhood at either Huset or Lomianki Park. I live a short distance away from there, would make it more manageable for me. Lomianki park is ideal for smaller groups anyway, so if only a few people are planning on coming then it'll be good.

Whoa, I totally missed this!

The 8th probably works for me, I'd have to double check. That MN War parks thing you made is pretty nifty! Good job on that, it should come in handy. I haven't heard of Lomanki park, but I am open to trying it!

Also, we should see if some of the Chicago crew can come! MN needs some more people. I'll scrounge up some friends.

Yeah, I got some buddies who want in. Been making guns for 'em.

If I do this on the 8th, you can probably expect to see:

-me with my tri-barreled pulse strike monster and probably some other kind of gun, probably a first gen nitefinder
-my bro, with his new bow I built for him
-one of my bro's friends, though I haven't got any special firepower for him. He might wind up with the high-ROF modded Tommy 20, it's a beast.

I'll see what else I can mod around here and kit out my friends. If other people are planning on being there and bringing extra guns then I can bring extra people.

As for Lomianki park, I might get over there tomorrow and take pics. It's a decent park, good for smaller wars as I said.

OK, this is a "go" for me. I got me and 1 to 2 other guys coming. And if we get so many people to come that there isn't enough in little Lomianki park then we'll just go up the street to Huset park, where there will be TONS of room.

Ok, well since it looks like people will show up, I should probably say a few things:

Rules:
1) Bring whatever darts you want, you'll probably be loosing some/all of them. We'll be decked out for snow, so hot glue domes will be acceptable.
2) Bring eye protection. If you don't bring it and you are a minor you can't play, so your parents can't get pissed off at me. Adults who don't wear eye protection are stupid and you play at your own risk. So bring some goggles or something, k?
3) I hate to ban blasters outright, but the usual rules apply: no singled titans/pulse whatevers/etc in play. Bring it along to show off for sure though, just don't shoot people with it.

I'm gonna see if I can bring a large thing of hot water and cocoa mix. If you have a thermos you might want to consider doing something similar.

Right now I'm thinking a 9/10 AM start time sounds good, ending around noon or perhaps a little later.

Any game types people want to play? I may be the host, but I'm happy to play whatever you guys are interested in since I'm not exactly a nerf war veteran.

I gots bags of mini-marshmello MADDNESS to unleash, I gots pent up agression to release, and I gots nothing on that saturday morning I would rather do than nerf especialy if it is with new peeps.

And by new peeps I mean Starkpants and ARRRRRGHHH-fink. Kip: I know you must roll with a hip crowed so I'm interested to see what you can produce. Old peeps are fine also I guess.

I myself only have D+D friends with no interest in the outdoors and office co-workers who, for lack of a better way of putting it, don't "get" our hobby. And my kids are 2, they would try and eat darts.

I will also have a MonsterCore, orange marker cones, and Carpe materials so there will be no lack of games.

I've been having almost the exact opposite problem, all my buddies from college love doing stuff outdoors, but go incommunicado whenever I try to ask if they want to try nerfing. I do have a friend who's wanted to come out but was working Saturdays all last summer/fall who might be coming though.

Sounds like a fun time. I'm gonna need to get some snow pants before then (mine are all torn from a recent, um... roof dismount?) or else it's gonna be real wet for me. XD

Also, speaking of marshmallows and nerf guns: not a bad idea at all. Also, I found that Jujyfruits (which are not fit for human consumption) make excellent ammo as well, but tend to tumble a but much.

Yes, those mashy-mallows will be fun. I have also experienced the decreased range that mallows bring, and the joy of leaving them for squirrels to eat/get sugar high on. I may bring some as well. Perhaps a marshmallow-only round will be in order?

But seriously Venom I have a legit progressive suggestion: Come for the morning. Just the morning. Get 3 solid hours of Nerf in, maybe hang out for lunch maybe not depending on the time. But for SURE if you come for the AM you will be more productive the rest of the day no matter what you do because you will be up and in an active mode. Plus, you will not be a tooly tool by not showing up

I may have already said this, but 9AM sounds great to me. I am all in favor of a solid 3 hours and then it's a quick hop to some local restaurants- just up 40th Ave to Central and then you can get to a MacD's, Taco Bell, or whatever. I don't actually plan on staying for a whole ton longer than 12, although I might. Maybe.

EDIT: This is kinda important to me: Does anyone coming to the war have a hornet they'd be willing to part with? Let me know ASAP if you do so I can get cash tomorrow at the bank.

Hmm, 3 bags worth, huh? I don't have nearly as much ammo. XD Oh well, no more is getting made tonight, I'm done! I have a small toolbox full of stefans, and several smaller size bags of mallows, probably I can get some more tomorrow morning maybe. But maybe not.

Well, the war was... um.
Well, it didn't really happen. I showed up, as well as SonReeseSonJensen and Velveeta Avenger. My bro got up 5 minutes before I left and said he didn't want to get dressed and come. So with 3 people we couldn't really do much besides show off blasters. Half of which weren't working right in the cold. And also, marshmallows shoot very well out of nerf guns but only when they aren't frozen. XD

So we shot at a plastic snowman for a bit, and then went to my house and played Dreamcast and Neo Geo for the rest of the time. Hope nobody showed up an hour or so in and wondered where we were.

I think SonReese and Velveeta will agree with me that Lomianki park will be a superb park for CTF: it's long and narrow and has just enough obstacles on each end, with a somewhat open space in the middle.

Anyways, better luck next time!
