I believe frost vectron posted a guide on how to FIX the cocking pin but instead of a fence bracket could I do it without one? If not what if I placed washers (plastic or metal) around the steel rod on the outside of the shell would it work? Has anyone tried it? I am planning to put a spring about 2-4x stronger than the stock one.

The cocking pin is basically the downfall of this blaster. The only way to keep this thing from breaking is by using a bolt. I saw it in some mod awhile back.

I've broken easily 3 Maverick slides just from penny mods. The gun itself is just terrible. You'd be better off with a Nitefinder.

Why don't you try it for yourself? Worse comes to worse you can just use a fence bracket if you mess up.

Agreed.

But anyway, the cocking pin broke for me, but I didn't know anything about the NIC at that time. So I just pulled out magic epoxy and glued the pin back in place.

When mine broke, i found a nail long enough and thick enough, cut off the holder tabs on the shell, drilled out where the pin used to go on the sides of the slide, and glued it into one side, and then re-assembled the whole thing.as ling as the nail goes through straight, and isn't bent, it should be fine.

Do what exo said, but use a bolt. You can get them in bags of 4 with the proper nuts for less than $5. There's no need to replace the entire slide.

Thanks. I think I'll just drill through and use some bolts.

Not some. A bolt. A single bolt... Just use a 1/8 inch bit and drill where the normal bolt would have gone through. Then get a small bolt and thread it through.

I had the same problem with my maverick, i had removed air restrictors and did the penny mod for power then my pin broke the knob on the plunger and now its somewhat broken.I did though replace the pin before it broke the plunger with a small metal rod.It worked till the plunger broke.

I learned that sometimes, it's better to keep what you know to yourself-simple as that.

When mine broke all I did was take a nail and hammer it through where it went on one piece of the slide. Then take it out and hammer it through the same spot on other side of the slide. It too a little force to get the nail back through both sides of the gun but it definitely wont break.
