Improvemants are farther down the page!

I don't have access to the different sizes of brass needed to make an Angel Breech, and I don't have enough money to buy off the internet. So I searched all over for a cpvc breach. I found two, both of which needed brass, I found http://www.nerfrevol...c.php?f=8&t=631 louiec3's breech and Uin13/Ice's breech. I also knew about singling it but, did not want to lose the ROF. So I went to work:

Materials:
1/2" CPVC
1/2" Cpvc Coupler
Thinwalled 1/2" PVC
Hotglue
super glue
Dremel
sand paper

First off let me tell you that the pictures came from 2 different longshots so if the colors of the peices change that is why

Here is the finished project:
Posted Image
I tried to make it as stock looking as possible.

First off take apart the blaster (no duh!)
then take this piece (the black one in the picture I don't remember what it is called) and cut it off.
Posted Image

Take only the bottom circle (orange in this picture) and put about 2 or 3 feet (enough to let it stick out the end of the blaster if you were to assemble it) Make sure to put that O-ring back on
Posted Image

then fill in the dead space with hotglue
Posted Image

when plunger setup is assembled it should be around this long
Posted Image

next, make your marks on where to cut the cpvc. (it needs to be small enough to completely fit inside the coupler but large enough to keep the dart from advancing too far in the clip. It also needs to be stategically placed to where when the plunger rod is caught by the catch the front mark is ontop of the dart and the back mark is behind the dart.) This is vitally important, if this is done incorectly it is highly likely it will not work in the end.
Posted Image

Then make a smooth line to cut like shown in the picture below
Posted Image

Make sure it will fin in the coupler. (in this picture it is too large so I had to make it a little smaller)
Posted Image

Next take your coupler and look inside it, you will find a ridge to stop the pipe from moving too far.
Posted Image
now sand the ridge off.
Posted Image

After you made sure that it fits inside the coupler go ahead and cut along the smooth line you made earlier
Posted Image

(I did not take a picture of this step so I will try to explain it as best as I can) After you have the cpvc in find where it rests all of the way forward. Hot glue the sanded out coupler with the other part of the cpvc glued inside of it.
(crude picture drawn in paint)
Posted Image

With the blaster assembled find where the nub should be super glued on. (I used goop, superglue, and epoxy to keep it on.)
Posted Image

then take your pvc cut it in half length wise and make it long enough to make it from the coupler to the front of the clip.
Posted Image

after you glue on the nub take some test shots to make sure it works and your done!

Pretty neat design. I'm going to assume that there's not enough length for streamlines though, right? Anyways, it looks clean (on the outside), so good job.

No, it doesn't accept streamlines. Streamlines are too tight to fit in my cpvc anyway. I'm working on a design for one to accept streamlines, but it will take a lot of sanding.

If you are worrying about being "first" I already had this up on nerfrevolution a few months ago. I even have improvements up on Nrev, I'll be posting that here soon.

Very nice job!

I might do this except replace the coupler with half in. repair brass... Im deciding over a new design of a clip accepting e pic longshot or this.

RIGHT after I finish my singled LS. <_< Very neat design. I would make this, but I don't have another LS to perform this mod on.

The truly genius part of this (if I understand it correctly) is that you can have proper barrel length (as in, not the usual 2in barrel) the same as you would with a singled LS, but this way it still takes clips. Great work dude, now I wonder if this can be done to a recon? I'd make the assumption that it would, but you know what they say about assumptions.....

I don't know if this would be considered a necro but whatever. I have improvements I have done to this mod and I don't know if I should start a new thread or post it here.

I have improvements!

First off, remember that nasty "smooth curve" I made you cut? Well, your life is now easier. There's no need for that anymore because a straight line will do the trick. You can use a dremmel or miter box saw or even ratcheting pipe cutters. DONT FORGET THE SAND THE INSIDE OF THE BREECH OUT!!!
Posted Image
Another thing is stability. Instead of using glue why not use a bolt to attach the nub? You can even leave more of the orange part on the nub and put the bolt in that.
Posted Image
You can also wrap some e-tape around the end of the CPVC that the black (or orange) peice that goes inside the plunger tube goes on. It helps make a better seal and it helps with putting it on there straight.
Posted Image
Posted Image
I still like to use the thin walled (SCH. 20?) pvc for a ramp though.
Posted Image
Now here are some pictures of the finished breech inside the blaster:

I like the duel triggers but how did you get it to work, plus how comfortable is having to two triggers on that handle. also with this breech can you top load darts if like your clip runs out.

It is just like linking the triggers only with a second trigger. It is very comfortable IMO. I like it better than a keyring trigger. It is not that hard to do. It just takes a lot of dremeling.

That's Nice, Man. I Fucked up one of my old Longshots trying to Single it (Somehow), But I have another now. I'll DEFINATELY have to do this.

Quick Question: Can the Sch. 20 PVC be replaced with some of the fake barrel from the LS? I just don't want to buy a ton of thinwall when I'm only going to use an inch or so on this.

Anything would work as long as the cpvc fits inside of it.

Not meaning to hijack the thread or anything, but I made one of these and thought I would share a little. First off I would like to say, that these are not hard to make. I made mine from a singled longshot I already had, the conversion was pretty simple. I remember there being talk of more powerful springs to get better ranges, so mine has a quadshot and recon spring combo. I am getting ranges of 90-100 ft flat, and I am 14 and can prime it one handed with not too much difficulty. I also made a new method for stefan clips and will have a write-up soon. With these new clips, I haven't had a single jam! You should all make one of these, and credit for mine goes to sodizzle for the concept and write-up.

Intriguing. Still wondering if this would jam any more often or not be as smooth because it is cpvc and the fit of stefans in cpvc is a lot tighter. Im sure if you used the grey foam bullets then it would be fine but thicker foam don't think would work that well. Also, im curious as to the seal of the bolt, they are sealed simply from contact inside a coupler, which sounds like it might work but having hard surfaces in contact dont normally form tight seals. Also, what springs do you have in there?

I use tighter fitting foam than the grey stuff. I use the white foam that is similar to what split was selling a while back. It seals because of the coupler. The coupler makes he sealbecause it fits over the bolt. I currently have a maverick recon longshot combonation of springs on it.
