I am trying to do a huge modification of my nerf longshot, but I ran into a dilemma, I can't unscrew the darned thing. The screwdriver I used for my recon and pistols is too small for the screws of the longshot. Can you guys post pictures of your modification screwdriver of choice and tell me where you got it?

Too small? Mine are always too big, only one is the perfect size. Sorry, no pics, I'm in bed with my iPod.

I wouldn't try modding a longshot if you can't even get the into the thing.

Try out a local dollar store. There's this green box of plastic screwdrivers;

that can be commonly found.

I use the max size for my Longshot in conjunction with pliars to get the screw started, because the grip isnt too good.

Just check out hardware stores for one that looks like it'll fit perfectly, take it home, and give it a try. Never hurts to have too many screwdrivers.

Don't get those, they will only disappoint. If you are getting some screwdrivers, get a good set from the local hardware store.

If you have some screwdrivers to spare, I used the cutting blade on my dremel to cut a little bit of the tip of one of my screwdrivers (only 1 mm, even less....) I use that srewdriver for big nerf screws, and another of the same type for the smaller ones

Jeweler's screwdriver set biggest one (#6) usually works for just about every nerf gun I've opened.

The Longshot is a little bis older than the Recon, so the screws are a little bit bigger. Not to long ago Nerf swiched to smaller screws.

I love you guys :) . Its not that I'm inexperienced, its the fact that I use the same screwdriver from my Nintendo DS modding for my recon. I'll go to home depot and try to find this #1 or #2 philipps .

I use a set of jeweler's screwdrivers (#0 and #1) for all the new blasters.
Then a bigger screwdriver for the older blasters (Firefly/NF/LS or older) because it fits into the screw holes and has more mechanical advantage. The old stuff seems to have screws that are harder to open. >.> Opening the Firefly hurt my hand until I switched to the bigger screwdriver.

Travel Cost to TRU = $2. Eliminator pack = $15. Momentum testing = 2 lost darts. Outranging Recons with your mini pistol = priceless.
