Meh, if t rains we'll just stick to playing at GHS, its mostly concrete anyway.

Don't show up in a tank top and shorts, or there is a good chance you will be miserable. Bring a jacket, or better yet, an awesome umbrella hat. Man, I hope they sell those at the 99 cent store.

Why would they need to sell them when you can make one out of a 99¢ umbrella and a 99¢ hat?

Well, I'm still out, regardless. If anything, I'd rather slip and fall on grass, rather than concrete.

Well, I'm going to be in the area this weekend, but I'm only a maybe for warring. Maybe plus one too. This is going to be awesome if I make it.

Nevermind, plans change and I have almost no chance of being there. Oh well.

Since there is going to be rain, I would appreciate an attendance list of people who are still going to show. We (Baff group) will gladly still drive down and nerf with you guys in the rain, but if people are going to not show because of it being wet or the war gets cancelled we need to know by early tomorrow to cancel the hotel and change plans. Thanks!

we in socal don't post attendance lists 'cuz it's redundant.

Also almost every December socal war is in the rain, and we still get good attendance

Yeah, it rained mostly the whole day. Not very hard, but it was a constant drizzle.

The next one is going to be in Huntington Beach on the 15th of January. I'll get to posting another war thread soon.

Might as well post a recap.

• Solid war all around. Good attendance.
• Probably one of my better days of Nerfing. I used positive actions all day.
• Surprise, I used a +bow all day.
• Rainbowpump in action was nyce. Props, Ryan, but we both already knew that.
• Team Powerball in the rain was a risky move. Injuries happen. Really fun, though.
• I still have a bruise on my chest. This one and the previous point aren't related.
• That 99¢ Store had a crazy selection. My purchase was worthwhile.
• I was dodging pretty effectively yesterday. My spin move did quite well.
• Rain was not as bad as it could have been.
• Driving to and from the war was scary. Pants and I hydroplaned a couple times on the 10 near downtown, and then I did it again in the same spot coming home. Whoooops.

I'll throw in my own recap as well:
* Happy to have some new faces, and people who don't join us often down for this one.
* The Kodak Playsport worked Perfectly, and we have TONS of great footage to work with.
* I do need to buy some extra batteries and charger for it though. (having to recharge it with my phone charger in my car on lunch break worked, but we missed out on shooting the last round before lunch)
* As always that Awesome-Horrible 99Cents Store does not disappoint (totally bought a knit cap that smells like gasoline)
* Everyone's imaginative hats made from random crap were great.
* Arrowing the FUCK out of people with vintage modded Xbow.
* The instigation of our new ruleset worked nicely to mix things up.
* Powerball @ GHS works ok... probably would have been better in not rain, but still worked.
* TPB in the rain is a glorious battle and was pretty brutal.
* Totally snapped the turret off my pistol splat blocking one of Soccerdog's shots, it was headed clean for the 3 point goal in the last 30 seconds of the game.
* My feed being nowhere near as waterlogged as I feared they would be was a nice bonus.

I have a crapload of footage, but I can't edit it yet because well... when my laptop decided to fry its own motherboard last month...apple fixed everything and I didn't lose squat. Except my Licenses on all my software because now my laptop thinks its a brooding Clone of the original, and that its memories and abilities are but mere copies. and I cannot find the codes for teh Final Cut Suite anywhere. At fucking all.

Time for mine:

-Seeing all the SoCal guys again
-Great locations (GHS was awesome)
-My rattler scoring multiple kills as well as many from my crossbow
-3 headshots in 2 rounds (Sorry pants and dude with the sonic/clear nf's)
-The ride to and fro was not bad at all
-The rain was not bad and actually made things interesting
-Slipping and landing hard during team powerball (Thinking about it now, it was pretty funny)
-Ice Nine vs Nerfer9 in seeing who goes first was teh lulz
-The Hat was awesome
-The 99 cent store was surprisingly good for a 99 cent store
-The hats that were made were absolutely awesome
-Ninja blocking darts multiple times with my xbow. One specifically funny time was when Cannonball shot my xbow which made it shoot my dart out. Nice shot.

Great war. It was totally worth it being on the road for 18 of the 36 hours that were associated with this. Cant wait till 'geddon now

I had a great time as well, well worth the drive. We'll see all you socal guys again come geddon hopefully.

Making Jake's blaster go off was pretty funny. He'd been smacking my darts out of the air with his xbow for a while before then.

highlights:

-Not cracking my head open by sliding around in the rain
-getting the new hopper to fire pretty consistently. Just needed a better end cap.
-Some awesome TPB in the rain.
-Nor-cal guys coming down. The more the merrier.
-putting my ball gun to good use

Cons:
-breaking the trigger on my ball gun. the Polycarbonate happened to be a little too thin.

Pretty good day of nerfing.
