Ok, so I’m thinking about hosting a war during my winter break. Now, I’ve never done this before so I just wanted to know a few things.
* Do you have to have permission with the district (or whatever else it’s called)?
* Do you have to pay the district?
* Can any Nerfer do it?

And anything else you think I should know would be helpful. Thanks, in advance. :D

In general, you should make sure with the park administrator that it is okay to play with nerf blasters on their ground. Unless you're renting the park you usually don't have to pay, but some parks do have admission fees. Yes, any nerfer can do it.

In general, you should always check with the people you are hosting your war/outing at, it's just like asking to borrow someone's blaster, always ask first. If they do ask for some form of compensation, weigh your options; just because it has a high reservation price doesn't mean you shouldn't Nerf there, you can amend this by charging admission (I wouldn't really recommend this option for a first war) or by holding a voluntary raffle of sorts. If it is in a park, however, check for when they actually will charge you, in an excellent park in my area, it will run me upwards of $200, but only April through the end of October. Still ask for permission though.

And considering that I can host wars, I'd say you have the ability to as well. If you feel tired/a bit shy, have someone co-host it, and who knows; said co-hosts might follow off your idea and host wars of their own in the same general area.

Just go in with confidence, but don't be a jerk about it.

And most importantly, have fun with it, think up new game types and listen to what people have to say about it, but still stick to some working types that have already been created.

I claim no mastery on this subject however, and my words are just my opinion, not fact.

He parkours over flat land while yelling tactical orders at no one. Demon Lord is the most legit ballsy nerfer of all time.

No. No. Yes.

Okay real answers.

1. No you don't not need to ask for anyone's permission to play in a park, however you do have to accept the risk of the police showing up and kicking you out, so be careful where you play. Find a park that doesn't have a lot of traffic. If you're gonna have a war with over 20 or 30 you may want to try to get a permit. Every place is a little different on how to do this so you'll have to do your research.

2. No, you do not have to pay. If they tell you to pay, find somewhere else to pay. If you want to have it on private property you'd have to work it out with the property owner. However, this can become a little complex and you probably should just plan on playing in a park.

3. Yes, however it's best if you attend some Nerf wars first to see how they operate. Also, since no one will really know who you are, there's no way of insuring that everyone will have fun. So go to a couple before you decide to host your own.

If there aren't any nerf wars in your area, and it would be totally infeasible for you to get to a nerf war outside of your area, don't be afraid to host one. Don't overthink it, just find out who in your area wants to nerf, and get together in a park and shoot each other.
